Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 58 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice sander I have used this sander on hardwood, drywall mud, plaster etc and found it worked really well. Sandpaper tends to gum up when used on a painted surface but otherwise it performed as expected. Handy for corner work, lightwight enough for overhead work and extended usage. Fully charged battery lasts about 30 minutes or so. December 26, 2008
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Handy for corners This came as part of my set and it came in handy when I was sanding the underside of our new table. The ability to sand corners is great, but I think an orbital sander would be better when not needing the corner ability. Also, It seems to go through a battery fairly quickly. January 10, 2008
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good light weight sander Bought this as an add on for my two tool combo kit. Sander does a good job and with the triangle shape can get into corners nicely. I like the velcro type sticky pad for quick paper replacement. October 23, 2011
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by ok This product is like 19.95 in the US. Why is it double the price in Canada? It's not that useful and it goes through batteries and sand paper like crazy. The battery makes it a bit too heavy for any raised work surfaces. February 27, 2007
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good and versatile This is a handy tool to use when sanding my stair rails and treads. I just purchased an old Victorian house that has tons of painted wood trim. This sander is doing a great job getting into the small spaces and getting rid of that horrible paint covering the beautiful wood. May 12, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great light duty detail sander. I am a Ryobi 18v fan and do a lot of my woodworking on my patio. I like this sander because I can work on projects where cords are inconvenient. I use this to smooth rough lathe objects as they turn. It makes double speed sanding possible on the outside of bowls and long spindles. I also us it when painting and working on trim when I run into a rough spot without having to plug in or run a cord. I am impressed by the new lithium ion batteries for Ryobi 18v. I have yet to run one out using this sander. They are awesome compared to the old ni-cad batteries. January 14, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by overheats too easily & shuts off. Picked this up lastnight to do 1 bedroom wall. It worked for about 20 minutes then just shut down. I followed the instructions to cool off the motor and it came back on. I figured Id let it cool down for 20 minutes, started it back up this time it ran about 10 mins before shutting down. I have let it sit now for an hour, made sure my battery was fully charged & now it comes on and runs for about 10 seconds then powers down. I hope I have better luck with other plus 1 tools from Ryobi. April 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by parts readily available I'm surprised by the reviews that report difficulty finding sanding sheets or parts like the hook/loop velcro pad the sanding sheets attach to. For repair parts, google a bit and you'll get the service diagrams; parts readily available from parts suppliers (and cheap). It uses the same sanding pads as other brands w/same sized platen. The person who couldn't remove paint must not have seen the 80 grit sheets that are around. That said, I may have just worn mine out after 3 years of a lot of use, which is why I happened to be on this site, looking up the cost of a replacement. August 31, 2012
