Customer Questions & Answers

can i run straight bleach through the ryobi power washer 2800?

Asked by: Chalice
i have run straight 10% bleach and an oz of dish soap thru for several houses with no problem. the thing is though once you are done with the job run water into the chemical tank, letting it overflow until clear then run water thru the pump with your soap nozzle to clear the bleach out of the system. a few extra steps and some time but i think its worth it, just in case.

Can I use this pressure washer to suck water out of a water tank for mobile detailing.

would gravity feeding this pressure washer be enough run it off the water tank?
Asked by: Dkh100
Would need to be pressurized to match the water that would come from an outdoor spigot.

Does the unit come with a hose? And do you need a special kind of hose? Or will just a regular garden hose work?

Asked by: Tom
comes with a presser hose, the one to the wand. but no inlet hose. I ues a 5/8" X 2-50 Foot. Seems to work as good as I could ask for. Jim

Is there a built in filter for supply water?

I have a less than pristine water source. Is there a built in filter or can an in-line filter be recommended?
Asked by: Dwight
Run the water for 1 minute before to get the crud out, and then attach it. There is a little mesh screen, if that's what you mean by filter.

Pay absolutely no attention to any review that says they 'recently purchased' this! Mine worked ONCE! It worked very well, but it only worked ONCE! It never started again. Had it in the garage anyway. Tried to start it every so often. Changed the plugs. Used carb starter. Everything I could think of. Still, it only worked ONCE! "The Ryobi 2800-PSI Gas Pressure Washer is backed with the Ryobi 3-year limited warranty and is guaranteed to deliver results for years to come." -- What a line of junk! The 'limited warrantee' only covers pressure washer parts, not the engine. THE ENGINE STARTING IS ONLY COVERED FOR 30 DAYS! Read the FINE PRINT.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful service Home Depot was great, did everything they could. Ryobi could not have been any worse. Used for less than 12 hours, pump went bad. Ryobi asks that you go to one of their certified repair shops, which I did. They then said the pump was shot and that's not covered by warranty. Customer service genuinely did not care. Sadly for our account, we bought 5 of these and 3 have now stopped working.

This isn’t my first washer, but after two major repairs and looking at a third on the no name washer, I decided on the Ryobi. I am very pleased with my Ryobi 2800-PSI 2.3-GPM Honda Pressure Washer. It started easily over several days’ usage. The only suggestion I might have is for a larger gas tank. However, running out of gas occasionally is a good excuse for a break. So the tank is fine as far as I’m concerned. I started on our large patio and connected sidewalk. Next I did the sidewalk along the house. I used the blue soap nozzle, let it soak for a few minutes and then the white nozzle, which did a fine job. Our very black driveway was next after I bought the PowerCare turbo nozzle (from Home Depot). I use Zep patio/driveway soap also from Home Depot. The turbo nozzle did an outstanding cleaning job and speeded completion. I recommend buying one. It’s worth the cost in efficiency and speed.

I purchase one on a Saturday and started washing house that afternoon. It ran for about 10 minutes and shut off with no warning. Checked fuel and oil, could never get it to start again. Returned that evening and got another one. Woke up next morning and assembled new one and started washing and this on ran for about 15 minutes and shut off never to start again. So I returned the unit back and got my money back I was not going for round 3. Purchased a different brand from a different big box store and finished my house and driveway with no problems.

Honda engine and pressure pump ran great. Started on 2nd pull. The only problem I had was with the adjustable wand. Turned dial from the high setting to the low, and when I returned it to high, the pressure would not come up all the way. I read the reviews about the problem with this wand, so I replace it with a non adjustable type. Now I have more max. pressure than I did with original wand. That is the only reason for 4 stars.

Bought this today, and I have to admit it wasn't the brand I intended on buying at first. But I'm very pleased with the ease and performance of this product. 279.00 isn't a bad investment when you can clean just about anything outside your house including your car. It's easy to start and has a good warranty.

Used correct gas. Flushed it out before storing for the winter and the fuel that was in there had stabilizer so IF any was left over which it should not have been it was stable. Stored in winter in heated garage. Went to start it this summer-nope-busted. Of course they will not cover anything like this in the warranty (fuel related). Costing me almost $100 to repair something that I have used less than 4 times and have followed directions in the manual to the letter. BEWARE OF RYOBI POWERWASHERS. THEY ARE JUNK AND THE COMPANY DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR CUSTOMERS.
