I have heard that bleach is also NOT good for the wood. I was told it opens the grain of the wood allowing contaminants to be absorbed into the woood.

To be honest...If you want to keep the pressure washer for a long period of time...My recommendation is to "NOT USE" straight bleach through the machine. Bleach will destroy most of the working parts that are used to create the pressure. Using straight bleach through "ANY" pressure washer is "WAY NOT GOOD!"

NO, the owner's manual specifically warns against using bleach OR OTHER SOLVENTS, and that this will void your warranty. Would only use cleaning solutions the owner's manual specifies/allows.

Hey Chalice -- No, bleach will not only damage your pressure washer, but it will also void the warranty. I would recommend getting a sprayer and using that to spray bleach and then using your pressure washer to clean with. Thanks for the question!

Answer:
First what kind of hose are you talking about?
The unit comes with a 25 foot hose that goes between the unit and the trigger.
The other hose that is needed is a garden hose that goes from your home to the unit for the water supply.

It does not come with a a garden hose. The owner's manual says it needs a 3/4 inch garden hose no longer than 50 feet. I haven't seen a 3/4 inch garden hose at any store. You can find one on-line. I've used a 5/8 inch hose before with no problems. You can get a 5/8 inch hose anywhere.

It has a hose water inlet filter where the hose connects to the power washer but that's it. You would have to filter it before it gets to the power washer. You would have to maintain the minimum water pressure at the output of any external filter.

If you are concerned with the water from your source, then it would be okay to use an "In-Line" filter "BEFORE" the pressure washer connection. But..."THERE REALLY IS NO" problem "NOT USING" a filter.
I do not use a filter in my water supply source for my pressure washer, and have had "NOT A SINGLE" problem.
So basically...It is really up to your discretion...

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 407 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice product! Have used this twice since purchasing it and it is easy to use and does the job as advertised. There was minimal assembly that was easy to do. All the hose hookups are easy, although you have to get down on your knees to do them. Not a problem as long as the ground is dry. The weight distribution, wheels, and handle make it easy to move with or without the hoses attached. The wand holder on the handle is in an awkward position: you can't start the engine with the wand in the holder, not does it really hold it securely. This is minor, yet annoying. The wand has a comfortable grip and you can use this for long periods without cramping or other discomfort. The actual washing worked well making all the little things not worth worrying about. A good product and a good bargain. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by All around star Bought about 1 month ago and have used it twice with east starts both times. Great power and attachments. Very portable [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] October 19, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Would Recommend to a Friend Not much else to say. This is a good product. The only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the spray wand is a few inches to long or the clip that holds it needs to be mounted higher because rests on the ground. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] October 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Before you check out Would have been a five star except for the soap tube. Buyers, pick up a couple spring clamps, or screw clamps before you check out. You will need them. Ryobi, c'mon !!! It's a gas motor. It vibrates... The instruction manual even acknowledges the soap tube will vibrate loose. October 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Pressure Washer I bought this pressure washer about a month ago. So far I haven't had too many issues with it. The Washer disassembles very easily and can be put into the back seat of your car. Overall I gave it a 4 because of the following things: 1) The hose is kind of a pain to untangle 2) Changing soaps and flushing the tank is very hard because of the small drain hole. I had to flip the whole PW over to drain the soap reservoir. 3) An oil drain would be nice! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 29, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use.. Products is of top quality and ran all day without any problems. Great price too!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] September 29, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Before leaving the store ... If you buy this washer at a hardware store, pick up two spring claps or two screw claps. The soap tube will come off. The introductions mention what to do IF the soap tube comes off. Should just say, WHEN the soap tube comes off. Mine came off pulling it out of the box. A couple tube clamps makes it a good consumer washer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] October 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works exactly how I had hoped. Assembly consisted of snapping the handle on and hooking up the hose. After putting in the oil and filling her up on gas it fired up and ran on the 2nd pull. The pressure is great. Works really well. The picture attached was taken approximately 30 minutes after I got home from Home Depot. I think it proves pretty darn well just how good this unit works, that is 15 year old siding mold it just erases away. August 24, 2016
