What is it hard to pull the cable to start the power washer? I just bought it..

Asked by: Bianca
Thank you, Bianca. If you are having difficulties starting this pressure washer, please bring it in to an authorized service center for a proper diagnosis. But before you do, please try pulling the trigger to release some of the built up pressure and see if that works.

3100-PSI 2.5-GPM Honda Gas Pressure Washer with Idle Down is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 520.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Avoid this Pressure Washer Worked great when we first got it and I really liked that it had a Honda engine and you could put soap in the reservoir without needing a bucket and injector hose. I used it to clean the house and deck and it did a nice job cleaning. Upon restarting it though, the pull cord ripped right through the plastic shroud and would get stuck. The next time it started up when choked without much effort but as soon as you moved the choke to run it would shut off. I got quite the workout having to continuously restart it and the cord getting stuck in the shroud was extremely frustrating. I was constantly playing with the choke trying to find the "sweet spot" to keep it running and could never move it completely to run.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Pressure washer I bought this Ryobi 3100 to replace my old washer that finally died. After somple assembly the 3100 started on the second pull right out of the box, has a idle down feature when the sprayer is not engaged, and the essential fuel shut off valve. All of the sprayer/ waterline fittings ware machined brass, with massive neoprene O rings thsat didn't leak a drop. This Ryobi is "top of the line", excluding full blown commercial models. I would recommend this model for any home owner looking for a solid washer for residential use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works well if you can pick up in store/make sure to squeeze trigger to release water pressure before starting I ordered online as it would not fit in my car. Just as many others have mentioned the box arrived from ups oil stained and upon opening the unit had oil all over it and as others have mentioned the air filter was also soaked in oil which prevented it from starting. I requested home depot to send my an air filter they gave me a case# and then responded that is not something they supply it has to come from honda and I could return the unit for a refund (note you can`t send back ups if it`s been started even if you drain all fluids) I bought an air filter on amazon and forwarded home depot their own page showing the air filter they stock Also another thing I did not realize is after refueling you must squeeze the trigger and release the water pressure BEFORE attempting to Start! The cord won`t pull I did not see this in instructions and fortunately saw another reviewer mention this I like the idle down feature, the unit works well, the gas tank should be bigger the hose is pretty stiff

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Power Washer at a Great Price Quick easy set up. Started on the 2nd pull. Overall a great piece of equipment. Some of the features that pushed me to this model that I really love are: 1) Slow idle when not pumping water. Saves fuel and my ears. Idles very quietly. 2) Quick change nozzle . Changes pattern spread and soap application in an instant without having to keep track of different tips. 3) On board soap tank eliminates carrying a bucket and diluting solutions. 4) Very flexible pressure hose resists kinking. The only thing it loses points for is that the fuel tank could be better located for easier filling. The frame gets in the way when using a large gas can but a funnel would take care of that problem.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Scary Brand new 'Ryobi 3100 psi Power Washer with Honda motor' used for 15 minutes, popped a couple of times then quit running. Sent off to be repaired, six weeks later It is supposed to be headed back to the Spring Hill, FL store for me to pick up. When I asked what the problem was the answer was it had a seized valve. That's where I'm a bit nervous, not only does, this time, count as 'Warranty Time,' but the service person told me and I quote " oh yeah that's common." I wonder where is that common? Maybe I have been blessed all of my 51 years racing, repairing, etc. small motors; but I haven't had the first seized valve problem in a new motor ever. SCARY!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Pressure Washer on the Market! Before getting this Ryobi pressure washer I had another brand pressure washer and it had nothing in this Ryobi one. This one is extremely easy to use. This will remove dirt and grime off of anything! When they say it is powerful, they mean it. I have used this to clean my car which allows me to save tons of money on expensive car washes. You never know how much you need a pressure washer until you own one. There are so many cleaning projects you can use this for like siding, driveway, deck, pourch, car, outdoor furniture, trash cans, swingset and many other things! I highly recommend this pressure washer! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great tool for my jobs Was up and running in about 30 minutes, after setting up the fluids and hooking up the hoses. At first I thought that some of the poor reviews were correct (experienced idle down not working consistently, intermittent pressure...) but I found that if I let the water come though the wand (before starting the motor) to bleed all of the air out of the water supply hose and then let unit idle for about a couple of minutes, it works like a champ. Over 300 feet of wood fence done so far. I am very pleased with the performance of this unit. I purchased a 30 foot extension hose and the washers still offers good performance.

In October the carburetor started leaking gas and the local small engine shop stated the carburetor was defective!. I had the carburetor replaced and within two weeks that new carburetor began leaking gas. Counting the original carburetor, the Ryobi has had a total of 3 carburetors and I have a $400 pressure washer that I cannot use. I definitely would not recommend this pressure washer to anyone.
