Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Raventree Very Nice Jig Saw
Initial Review: I've had this for one day and really like it. I have an older top of the line Bosch to go with my matching wood working tools. All top quality. While visiting a friend we needed a jigsaw. I figured a junky $30 dollar one would get us by and wasn't expecting we would find much worth mentioning for that price but would do the job needed. This jig saw at first glance has more features than my older Bosch! Many of the features seem to copy what Bosch brought to the world of jig saws many years ago that set them apart such as a really good chuck design so the blades don't break off all the time. I am surprised that this has the feature to saw straight up and down or to vary the blade where it hits on the cut stroke and pulls away on the back stroke. This feature is an old Bosch favorite and makes it cut wood without burning or ruining the blade quickly with extra heat. I really didn't expect that feature. On scroll work be sure and set it to the steel setting just straight up and down or it won't turn a corner true. The quick release chuck for the blade is a really nice feature. Works very well. I didn't notice the light on first use. Next time I used it was darker and it really helped. I have only had one problem so far which was easy to fix. The quick release slide that holds the angle adjustable bed/bottom platform somehow loosened while cutting some rough wood. Excess shaking seemed to cause it. To fix it I removed the 4 screws on the black pad and tighten the nut and experiment a little to get it right. Very easy to do and took 5 minutes. Designed with easy access. Overall for one day's use I am very happy and impressed with this jig saw and like it more than my several hundred dollar old one. And it's lighter to hold too. Bonus: It will hold the same very good Bosch jig saw blades that I am used to.

I'm familiar with using a jig saw but have not owned one until now. I bought this jig saw for home repairs and specifically, to install bamboo flooring. This jig saw does a great job cutting through the bamboo (with appropriate blade of course). I like the T blade design and I understand why Ryobi is phasing out the old fast release style. I was told that other companies have begun following the safety change too. I like the compact size of the tool. My hands don't fatigue while in use and the light guide is very helpful. I opted for this corded model because I don't want to worry about a battery dying in the middle of my projects. I can pull my hair up, secure boobs, safety goggles on, plug in and start cutting.

My Milwaukee jigsaw has been nothing but a problem since I bought it so I decided to try the Ryobi jigsaw to do a laminate floor job. Jigsaw performed flawlessly, felt nice to operate. From now on if I need a tool I am going to look at Ryobi first.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MrBen Easy to use and did the job without much need for experience
I have never used this type of saw before but needed to cut a hole in an exterior door for a pet door. It was very easy to use and handle. I did watch a couple youtube videos to make sure I didn't lose a finger but the instructions included were enough for me to get going in a few minutes. The person who helped me recommended this brand over B&D due to quality issues. This saw was strong and steady. It cuts very quickly so you need to pay close attention to what you're doing. The variable speeds are great.

I gave the corded jig saw to my daughter as a gift. She is delighted with it. Loves to build craft items as Christmas gifts. She is currently making a Nativity scene out of 3/8 plywood for her front yard. She also has made a plaque as shown.

I bought this saw not expecting to much. My first project was cutting speaker holes in 3/4 partical board. It cut through the wood like nothing, I didn't even need to push. So glad I went with this saw!
