Does this come with a blade? How many?

Asked by: Greg
One tiny cheap "all purpose" blade. This is a narrow, 3"-4" blade.

Where can I get more blades?

I look everywhere for a blade that can cut through metal still could not find any
Asked by: Robbin
the only blades that work correctly are the ridgid universal t-shank blades, from homedepot but of course they are not selling them at the moment.. this is rediculious.... if they sale ryobi work tools then they should have the correct blades to go with it... I am sending my ryobi back and going to Lowes to find me a jigsaw but they are just as bad!!! I have looked for the ridgid blades online and no where are they selling them. WHAT IS UP WITH THIS!!!

Which blades are compatible, the clamp doesn't turn all the way?

I bought the Bosch blade pack as well but when installing the blade the change blade clamp will not turn all the way back to the same position as when the Ryobi blade is installed. The "T" on the Bosch blades is a bit larger and preventing the clamp from fully turning back. Is it still safe to use even though it does not turn back the entire way? The Bosch blades are here: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Bosch-T-Shank-Wood-Metal-Jigsaw-Blades-15-Pack/202242135
Asked by: Riv111
Home Depot had the blades on their website at one time, but now they are discontinued.

What thickness of wood will this cut?

What thickness of wood will this cut? What thickness of aluminium will this cut? Thanks.
Asked by: Jakers
I am having issues with this unit barely cutting through 1 1/4" MDF shelf. Thickness limit here is similar to what you can do with a manual jig saw. Don't expect this to cut 2x4's

Wish the motor could blowout the sawdust collected in front of the cut. White LED light shines over smooth surfaces making the cut line difficult to view

I earlier used Dewalt and Milwaukee, but after a year and a half of construction work I find Ryobi is as good - if not better - than many of the big-name products. Ryobi is robust and lasts a long time. And far cheaper! However, this particular product has got a problem with the locking lever of the bottom plate. I lock it at an angle but as soon as I start cutting, the lever gets disengaged and the plate shifts. The result is that the cutting angle changes and my work is ruined. I am going to take this product back to Home Depot for an exchange. This does not in any way reduce my loyalty for Ryobi. I still stand by their range of products.

I prefer the corded kind, because I would never remember to keep it charged. Plus batteries die over time. This was a great value for the money. I've so far cut out holes in my inner wood door to the garage and my exterior metal door to the backyard to install cat doors. It's also useful in cutting my laminate wood floors to fit around odd angles such as the floor vents.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dont Buy I bought this to Cut Subfloor and Laminate, The Wheel and the Pin that sit in front of the blade keeps coming off, basically unit is useless after that. I had to replace the Unit twice at the store to finish the job.... Homedepot did exchange it and I got another one, at the end of the laminate installation , the support wheel and pin broke out.. just spend a little extra and buy a better brand instead of wasting time and Exchanging/returning..... If your cutting 2 pieces, u will have no problem, but if finishing ur personal home basement, u have issues

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Saw runs great, cuts nice, but the base absolutely will not hold position. Placing it in the straight upright position, as soon as you start to cut the base jiggles lose and moves to an angle. It is impossible to cut a straight vertical line! Totally frustrating -- can't even make an accurate small cut out for an electrical outlet! Don't waste your money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Purchase! No Regrets I'm familiar with using a jig saw but have not owned one until now. I bought this jig saw for home repairs and specifically, to install bamboo flooring. This jig saw does a great job cutting through the bamboo (with appropriate blade of course). I like the T blade design and I understand why Ryobi is phasing out the old fast release style. I was told that other companies have begun following the safety change too. I like the compact size of the tool. My hands don't fatigue while in use and the light guide is very helpful. I opted for this corded model because I don't want to worry about a battery dying in the middle of my projects. I can pull my hair up, secure boobs, safety goggles on, plug in and start cutting.
