Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by yardwaist design flaws
I confess, I haven't used it yet, but there are some clear design flaws right out of the box. Two frills of this saw are the hex-key and blade storage areas. The blade storage area is simply too small to fit the blade that the saw comes with. Seriously? Yes. And the hex-key storage only fits one of the keys at a time (you need to have two different sizes). Hard to believe, but unfortunately true. Hopefully the thing cuts through wood.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by spongeface Great tool.
this is a great tool. comparable to all the major brands, and much better in price. The blade selection it comes with is nothing to brag about, and actually, that is disappointing, since the accessories always reflect on the quality of the product, however, this is a great hand tool.. the Ryobi hand tool line is a decent and comparable line of tools in my opinion.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Allthumbs52 Good saw for the price
I bought this to go with my two tool combo kit, and to cut out shelves for my recently built wood shed. Does a goo job, cut 5/8" plywood with little effort using the supplied blade.
On off switch could be placed a little higher up.

I have used this saw to cut laminate counter tops, hard and soft wood and it performs excellently. The battery lasts a long time and it gives a quality cut. Easy to maneuver around and light weight. Great addition to the set.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kentak Blade availability is not an issue
A couple of reviewers have made comments about the difficulty in finding replacement blades for this saw. I don't understand this issue, as this saw uses T-shank jigsaw blades, the same design many other widely available brands use. I picked up a set of Bosch T-shank blades at my Home Depot and they fit fine, as they should.
It's true the Ryobi shank looks slightly different--it has a hole in the shank and a rounded notch in the tip of the shank, but the overall profile is the same as other T-shank blades. It should be noted that whatever brand blade you use, it's important to fully insert the shank into the tool against the spring pressure that you will encounter. Then release the lever and it will be securely held.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by erosy1 Much more than I expected!
I received this great little saw on the date expected. When I first used it, I decided this would be my go-to saw for all those curved and difficult cuts in the future. It gives me great control on the power and speed of each cut. If I have a major cutting project for this type of saw, I would use a corded saw, but I don't foresee that happening very often. I do intend to get a larger capacity battery, but the smaller ones work just fine. I like the interchangeability of the batteries because I have several wonderful Ryobe tools that I use all the time. This is a great saw and the price was better than anything I could find on other internet sites.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BillDer Much Better
I own most of the Ryobi One+ line, use them daily for work. I've been very pleased with the performance overall, with the exception of the cordless jig saw (blue version, recently reduced to $25.00) - that one was underpowered and a nuisance to control, enough so that I stopped using it entirely.
I upgraded to this new version today, and I'm very happy I did. This one has none of the issues that the old one has, as well as being much more powerful. Control is what I would expect, blade changes are simple and secure, and I actually prefer the light instead of the laser. Ergonomically this version is a much better design, very comfortable and easy to guide. As a test, I cut a sine-wave shape in the end of a two-by-four, which was not only fast and easy, but something the old blue version was incapable of doing (at least mine couldn't).
In my experience, there is no comparison between the new and old versions, this one is comparable to any jig saw I've ever used, cordless or otherwise. Well worth the wait.
