Just cut 15 trees in about three hours on an acre of land. Went through four of my batteries as some limbs were quite thick. I an impressed at the job the tool did. I saved 350 dollars after buying the tool versus hiring someone.

I now have two of these saws, one for each house. That saves me from hauling a saw from house to house. It's nice to have two batteries, but a single battery is usually enough to clean up either of our yards. The one-hour recharge time is also very valuable.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by hinkjeff Made me stop looking at tree trimming as a chore !
Where to begin - This assembled in minutes and thanks to the ONE+ battery, I already had batteries charged up and ready to go.
This is not suitable for people who do not understand chain saw SAFETY.
With a few minutes testing, I realized that this was cutting out wasted time on ladders and was giving me the reach I needed to get overhanging branches GONE. Chain saw blade is long-lasting and makes cuts like hot knife through butter
Alone, I Did More the first day with this saw than I thought I could have done in a week otherwise.
The motor-saw head is a bit heavy, but that weight helps the saw cut the branch from the top down, just the way it needs to. I learned to make a small cut up from the bottom of the branch first, to keep from stripping the bark back toward the trunk.
That being said, plan ahead - when the branch drops, the motor-saw head makes the pole top-heavy. Keep support under the pole and ease it down when the branch drops to keep from slamming the motor-saw head into the ground. Pole is fiberglass and the extension joints flex a bit, but it still feels quite solid. Tighten the pole connector periodically as it may loosen while the joint flexes. Middle extender makes the pole 9 feet long, so keep your balance.
Keep the long allen wrench in a secure spot so you don't lose it in the tree branch debris (like I did-twice. Found it finally) Maybe paint it orange to keep it visible if you drop it.
Keep the bar-chain oil cap tight. twisting and turning against branches, the cap can get loose.
You will LOVE this Pole Saw !

I have several tree that are more than 50 years old. If I can stay off a ladder so much the better. Having almost all of the One+ tools, this made for a perfect fit with all my other tools. I was very impressed with the very good quality and I love that they made it in sections. If I wanted to make it shorter or longer, it is as easy as taking out or adding a section. With the P104 long life battery I was able to cut more than 5 dozen branches. It never let me down. It really a great saw and very handy with a hook on the back that I could snag a branch that I had just cut off. If you have lots of trees that need trimming, get this saw NOW!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by RayRay65 Just what I needed !
I have been using a Ryobi trimmer now for 2 years and love it, so I decided to stick with Ryboi when I bought the pole saw. We have 11 large oak and pine trees on our lot and they all needed trimming. I have been trimming them on a ladder with a chain saw...not too smart at my ripe old age of 64. It took all of 10mins to put it together and add oil, after lunch the battery was fully charged. Thirty mins later I had trimmed 3 big pine trees, several branches were 6in. in diameter. I can't say enough good about this saw. If you are a do it yourself harry homeowner like me you need one !

I needed a pole saw. I was not sure about an electric, but this Ryobi was adequate to the task. Managed to remove a lot of low hanging vegetation without too much problem. Battery life is not as long as I had hoped, but it didn't give out much faster than I did. Younger buyers may want to purchase a second battery to work longer without interruption for recharging.

The electric motor of this Ryobi pole saw burned out twice in a little over one year and maybe 10 hours of total use. I use this saw around the house to trim limbs from trees, nothing special. Ryobi told me I could bring it in to Home Depot for repairs under warranty with an expected turn-around-time of 1-2 months or to an authorized repair company 25 miles away with a turn-around-time of 1-2 weeks. The closest repair company didn't seem too eager to help and brought up all kinds of reservations about whether or not it would be covered under the 3-year warranty. I'm majorly underwhelmed!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JohnD Good deal if you already have extra One+ batteries.
This is my first pole saw and it's very useful. I've been happy with it throughout the few days I've used it in my backyard and at a ski area trimming treelines. My advice probably applies to all battery pole saws - don't use a low battery on a thick branch you can't get to. Sometimes the teeth are stuck when the battery dies, and there's not much wiggle room if the bar is fully embedded. I have just three minor gripes - it comes with the small version of the lithium battery, there's no built-in way to retain the long hex key that you must have with you at all times, and the 8 inch diameter branch claim is unrealistic. 6 is more like it.
