Drive straight spec says "Tamper resistant "Yes"
SPAX spec says Tamper resistant "No"

What is the Difference? What makes one tamper resistant and the other not?
I need a large quantity. Drive straight is available 3500 pieces. SPAX not listed for more than 161 pcs.

Answer:
It's all in the thread. The thread on a Spax is unparalled for performance having serrated edges. The screws are self driving, do not require predrilling and will not split the wood, even oak. There is no better screw, period. I've used every type and make of screw for a wide variety of projects, everything from extensive decking to fine finished furniture, and the SPAX is the only screw that I will use Read More

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by One of the Best Multi-Material Screws Ever! Decided to renovate my 50 year old garage with a major appliance maker's garage organization system (Gladiator). The system's tracks for hanging cabinets and hooks had to be screwed to the wall studs - two screws per stud for each load bear track. Not one screw failed, broke or stripped. Each screw self-tapped easily through the thick, molded garage system track pieces - through the 1/4-inch wood wall panels and into the 50+ year old 2 x 4 s. I did drill pilot holes on the ends of the tracks, but not one screw split a track. The provide T-20 bit never stripped and lasted through the installation of 16 tracks - almost a whole box of screws. The T-star screw heads are deep enough to hold a screw on the bit for one-handed driving. SPAX screws are the best I have ever used in a DIY project. I'm retired and have renovated enough over the years to know the difference in the quality of screws and fasteners. June 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best screw for oak, period. Made in the USA or Germany says everything. This is a high quality, heavy duty mufti-purpose screw. Being tired of having screws break off while assembling oak furniture, I tried to do my homework and came across these screws. The one review I read was discouraging, but I'm thinking that it was based on a different screw. I tried it on a piece of solid oak without pre-drilling, and it went in like it was butter, and believe it or not, it came out in one piece, no problem. Very impressive, especially for a #8. There are not a lot of screws that come with a warranty, but this one does, not that you will ever need it. SPAX that. April 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NEVER AGAIN!!! I never write reviews but this product is so frustratingly horrible that people need to know not to purchase it! They are supposed to be good on wood, masonry, sheet metal, drywall and plastic. NO pre drilling wood it says! You can screw these in a pine 2x4 without them stripping no matter what size bit your use! I've used less than 1/4 of the box and will be throwing the balance away! Dont waste your money!
