Is the oven gas or electric?

The electrician and I both think if the oven is electric it will need something other than 120v and a 20 amp breaker.

The griddle on the display piece was cast iron. The one that came with it is not!! We really wanted the cast iron, but this one is heavy aluminum, we think!

30 in. 5.8 cu. ft. Gas Range with Self-Cleaning Oven and 5 Burner Cooktop with Griddle in Stainless Steel is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 654.

We have had this for about 10 months. The range started beeping randomly when the oven wasn't on. I called the support line and they had me reset the range. After doing this the oven never turned on again and the panel was no longer functioning. It also started beeping every hour on the hour. Very annoying. So after that happened it has taken Samsung over a month to fix this issue. I had to argue with numerous people to get it fixed. I am still waiting on the delivery of the new range. Fingers crossed I don't have anymore issues. But before then the range was great and we used it every day.

It's 2 1/2 years old and it has started to rust in the base of the oven in several spots. Samsung will not do anything about it. Samsung says that it's cosmetic. Corrosion in the oven is several spots in a range that is under 3 years old is crazy. It's not cosmetic it's made with the wrong material for this to happen. I've had other ranges that lasted 10 years and never corroded in the inside of the oven. I've never heard of such a thing. So, I will never buy another Samsung product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Poor Design This Samsung Gas Range is nice to look at. However, its functionality is limited by serious design flaws. It appears that the designer was more of an artist than a cook. The grates on the cooking surface do not support a small sauce-pan very well; the pan tips if the handle is at a 45 degree angle (viewed from above); see photo. The major flaw however, is in the design of the oven racks. They cannot accommodate 2 cookie sheets placed side by side length-wise on the racks as our old smaller GE range oven could have. The Samsung rack is not deep enough, although the oven itself is sufficiently deep. There is a gap between the back end of the rack and the back of the oven of about 2". The up curve at the back end of the rack limits the length of the cookie sheet that can be placed on it; see photos. This is a very poor design. A call we made to the home-depot was forwarded to Samsung, who was unable to help, as they said a longer/deeper replacement oven-rack is not available . Plus, we were told that the unit cannot be returned since the unit is not defective. Don't purchase this gas range unless you can live with these practical deficiencies.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy with this stove. We’ve had this for over a year and so far, we have been really happy with it. I like to bake and my wife likes to cook. There are several of us in the house and we can get a lot of food cooked and baked at the same time with this stove. The burners can put off a huge amount of heat which means that you need a really good hood/fan that can move a lot of CFU’s. Here are some specific points about this stove: 1. The four main burners work well and are fairly easy to clean. 2. The center long burner is nice for cooking on a large pan or switching the grill out for the extra flat pan that came with the stove. 3. The oven seems to be spot on with the temperature and bakes really good bread, cookies and pizza. 4. I have only used the broil a few times but it seems to do a good job (used it to melt cheese on jalapeno poppers and sandwiches). 5. The stovetop cleans up fairly easily but there is some disassembly required, especially if the small holes where the gas comes out get gummed up. 6. The oven racks are easily moved around. 7. The oven door is cool to the touch when the oven is on which is nice as we have a little guy running around. 8. The controls on the oven are easy to use and understand. Plus, the oven door can be locked which is nice for keeping the little guy from opening the door. 9. The cleaning mode is awesome. It works very well and can be done with a couple of settings (long or short). I have never had to use oven cleaner with this oven after a self-cleaning mode. Things that could be better: 10. I did notice that when I spilled egg white on the stove right after we got it, that the paint finish dulled and looks dirty. It’s almost like the egg white damaged the paint. 11. We had to remove the burner knobs as the little guy figured out how to turn them on. It would be nice to have a control to turn the gas on or off (parental/lock mode) 12. The bottom drawer seems a little flimsy but we don’t use it much as it’s not that big and can only hold a few flat pans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great new stove! This stove has exceeded my expectations. I had a builder's quality 16 year old stove that was on its last leg... This stove matches beautifully with my other stainless steel appliances. My son remarked, "welcome to the 21st Century!" Preheats quickly, cooks evenly... I am a baker, and the oven is wonderful. The stove top is easy to use, a breeze to clean and the center burner and grill are great for breakfast or anytime grilling. The delivery team was professional, friendly and explained each step of the timely installation. I ordered this stove online- a first for me... The Home Depot site was easy to use and saved time over a store purchase. I would purchase again using this method!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Qualty In less than 2 months the coating peeled off of one of the grates. I contacted Samsung and was told cosmetic damage was not covered under the warranty. I would have to purchase another one. Who's to say the same thing wouldn't happen. Totally disgusted with the quality of this product.

Pros: On the big front burner water comes to a boil much faster than my 11 year old range. Oven heats up within 5 minutes and on the display you can read the current temperature as it preheats. I put my own oven thermometer in oven to see if temperature was accurate and it is. Yeah! I clean the top black surface with a soapy dishwater and dry with paper towel and it looks great. Oven light is bright and can be turned on from display, as well as it comes on when door is opened. Cons: Why I waited so long using a range that took 10 minutes to boil water, 12 minutes for oven to preheat and that always was off 10 degrees or more. I did a lot of research and decided to go with an oven that was not convection, just didn't think I would use it. I bake a lot and my banana bread and cakes have come out wonderful in this Samsung oven. The fifth burner I have yet to use and I have decided to keep the griddle off and put a small narrow cutting board on top for an area to place items when cooking on top. Don't worry I move it to the far side and keep it away from flames when cooking. I went in to my local Home Depot and had no problems ordering, very quick and efficient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice to look at...works great. But..... I have been wanting a 5 burner stove for a long time. Finally, the price came down and I got one! The stove I replaced was a Kenmore that was 14 years old. The new stove's metal is SO MUCH THINNER than the old model! It pushes down when you clean the top! When it was delivered, the front bottom corner was dented. This, in turn, made the storage drawer unable to be straightened..and is very crooked. I'm sure with a little man-strength it will be able to be popped back out. I do think the operation is great. The oven is very large and preheats in a 1/4 of the time the old stove did..but the general construction material is poor. You get what you pay for.
