I read that you cannot remove the beater bar. I'm concerned because my daughter has long hair that wraps around the bar. How do you remove it?

You can use long nose pliers or tweezers. First cut the hair then pull them out. I have long hair and have to unclog it often. It is easy to do,

Answer:
I don't believe it is washable, you may have to blow or vacuum it out from the reverse side occasionally.
The most important thing is to clean/wash the first filters when dirty. You probably never have to replace any of the filters.

We thought we were going to replace it with another Dyson, until I came across the Shark Navigator. It's small size belies the amazing performance of this vacuum! It out-performs the Dyson by far, and is much easier to maneuver. The filter is very easy to get to to clean, the tools all snap right on to the back, and the hose is so easy to remove and use for hand vacuuming. The suction power is incredible on the Shark - much better than any vacuum I have ever used. I have had the Shark for 2 months now, and couldn't be happier. Shark really hit a home run with this one!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from love it! I clean houses for people, and have used Dyson, Eureka, Kirby and other vacs. This is my favorite. The suction is great, it's lightweight, and easy to use the wand - no flipping switches or hooking up hoses ( Kirbys are a nightmare). One tiny complaint, you have to be sure the wand stays down when vacuuming, as it sometimes slides loose and the suction is reduced. You have to empty the canister often, but that's a good thing!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good vacuum, disappointed in accessory package I purchased this vacuum as a gift for a family member. It is a good vacuum and works well. I am disappointed in the accessory package. If you look at the following link, you will see Home Depot has a manual on the web for the Shark Model NV80. The accessory package shows 4 attachments. A pet hair power brush, a dusting brush, a crevice tool and a 16" long crevice tool. However, all of these accessories aren't included with the package that is currently being sold. The exterior of the box doesn't show all of the accessories. It only shows what they refer to as a pet premium brush. This is not the power brush that is listed in the link below and it isn't what is listed in the description of the accessories at homedepot.com Upon opening the box and assembling the vacuum (which was simple, although you do need a screwdriver or coin - tool not provided), you will find there are only 3 accessories. The manual included does show only 3 accessories, so the manual included is correct. The accessories included are the crevice tool, dusting brush and pet premium brush. The pet premium brush is similar to a lint remover and doesn't have a power brush. Once you assemble the vacuum you will notice there is a place for another attachment, but it isn't in the box. This is where the 16" crevice tool is suppose to go. Also, there is not a place on the vacuum to attach the pet brush. Because the family member I gave the vacuum to lives 3 hours away and I don't want to lug it back to my local Home Depot to return it and ultimately it does work and works well, I will not be returning it. It is a good machine, but I am disappointed in the accessory package and Home Depot for not having the correct information on their website. http://www.homedepot.com/catalog/pdfImages/18/18f256cc-f76e-425a-aa85-c176b5746dd6.pdf

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to Use! I bought this for my mother in law this summer while visiting her because she had a really old Hoover that weighed a ton (& was losing suction). I've had an older model Shark for years, so I was thrilled to see a good deal on this model over the July 4th weekend. I love this vacuum! Easy to maneuver, lightweight, & no bags required. It also has some upgrades from the older model I own, including the fact that it stores all the attachments (except the pet hair one) is very handy (they used to come in a separate bag). Great value!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Surprised by amount of suction! The suction power on the Navigator Professional was greater than I expected. I am very pleased with the overall performance of this bagless upright vacuum cleaner. However, I wish there was a better attachment to vacuum pet hair and to reach under low clearance appliances like a refrigerator, etc.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great first impression I have only had the vacuum for one day but wow it's pretty amazing for the price. I guess I will see how long it keeps up based on others' reviews. Perhaps if it is well taken care of it would last a good while. It does not feel cheap to me. I picked it up for $130 at Home Depot yesterday.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Returned it -- really not that remarkable a cleaner. Hose suction was good, but it did not seem ... Returned it -- really not that remarkable a cleaner. Hose suction was good, but it did not seem to translate to the head (yes, I had the wand firmly attached to the head.) Beater bar is narrower than most vacs. But most of all -- it is not just heavy. It is quite top heavy. It fell over every time I used the hose. And the manufacturer knows this: they say the hose should always stay hooked under the clip toward the base of the machine -- to keep you from knocking it over even faster. So why is that portion of the hose flexible? And why does it pivot at the top -- if you can never remove it from the lower clip? And at this price -- you're not too far from a Dyson......

Rated 5 out of 5 by from money well spent Ive had this vacuum for two years and it has been a workhorse. The dust cup fasteners broke and Shark sent me a new one part. No hassles, I just gave the model and sn and they shipped it out.
