Answer:
Hi Jason,
As long as the compression fittings are made for 1/2" Copper Tube Sized Pipe and have a stiffener to support the PEX, you can use compression fittings on PEX. Thanks for your interest in our products.

Answer:
Hi Ha, the PEX you're asking about is for water. You would have to use PEX-AL-PEX. Home Depot does not have this as a stock item.

Answer:
Hi Rich,
While PEX tubing is used underground, check with your local building department for building code requirements in your city. In addition there are several types of PEX tubing. If local code allows it, the type will be specified.

Customer Reviews

Rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very easy to use and work with I have been using PEX piping in my remodel and I am very happy with the quality of the product. I was worried it would not hold up like copper does but in fact I think this product is superior to copper. Much easier to work with and you do not have to solder. July 21, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Less Than Perfect I mean me, not the product. Used pex pipe and associated sharkbite fittings for leak repair and to re-do a shower. Tubing is easily cut and since it is coiled, it is difficult to cut the ends square. However, there were no leaks. Sharkbite fittings are easily removed with the proper tool, allowing for use of the "trial-and-error" method of obtaining a good fit. For this reason the fittings seem to be worth the extra expense. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to use. This pipe is wonderful for the cold northeast. At extremely cold temperatures it won't freeze if you let you water run. My plumbing is exposed to the elements till spring. January 28, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Forget copper, PEX all the way if you can Lets see its cheap, easy to work with, joints dont leak, expands without breaking, and WON"T corrode . Take your time and bend it straight, or just buy the straight sections that HD sells November 1, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simple Installation - and Cheaper than Copper Typically, I am a great believer in copper. But at our summer house with access and freezing issues and a complete replumbing job necessitated by a flood - Pex was (and is) the way to go. June 12, 2012
