The holes on the TP37 are sized for a 8d common nails (0.131" diameter x 2 1/2" long), 8dx1 1/2 nails or the SD#9x1 1/2 structural connector screw. There is not a bolt or lag screw recommended for this connector. Thank you!

Will thease plates be strong enough to splice 2X4" pine wood together to support a 1/2" dry wall tottal span is 13feet

If so its will be holding up 1/2" drywall on a ceiling
Asked by: Terry
The TP Tie Plates are not load rated. They have several holes (32 for the TP37) and can be installed with 8d common nails, 8dx1 1/2" nails or the SD9112 structural connector screw. It would be up to the Designer/Engineer of Record to evaluate if this connector is appropriate for the application and specify which fastener above (and quantity) to use. Thank you!

Can this product be used with treated lumber?

Can this product be used with treated lumber?
Asked by: GAE
Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We reached out to MFG for more information and below is their response. “ The TP37 has the standard G90 galvanized finish which provides a low level of corrosion protection and is only recommended in dry service with limited treated wood. Please see the Corrosion section of our website to determine the recommended finish for your specific application based on environment, type of treated wood being used, chemical retention, etc. Thank you!
