What sixe bolts, nuts and washers.

I want to use galvanized bolts with washer and nut. What size.
Asked by: Anonymous
That will work but make sure that the bolts are not to large and insure that they grip a fixed stud or flooring!

Can you use expansion bolts to attach the base to the concrete?

Asked by: Don
It would be up to the Designer to specify the anchor bolt type, length and embedment based on concrete (new or existing? strength? location?), demand loads, local building codes, etc. The T-ANCHORSPEC12 Technical Bulletin (on our website) shows both adhesive and wedge anchor options for the ABU44 in wind and low-seismic regions. Thank you!

Customer Reviews

Z-MAX 4 in. x 4 in. 16-Gauge Galvanized Adjustable Post Base is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Way overpriced for what they are. At over twenty dollars each, these should be way more ruggedly built, and have a much higher quality galvanized finish. I replaced a half-dozen of these for a customer who couldn't believe that the last ones had only lasted six years before literally rusting to pieces. I would have rather used a different product, but this was all that was available at H.D.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product A bit pricey, but rock-solid when used with the proper anchor bolts in concrete. These were used to mount a decorative railing on a slab porch.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from works great easy to install with sleve anchor and holds post very solidly. Did not use the bold option to secure post, I used decking screws. worked well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The standoff feature allows for repositioning the post easily. Setting the post and aligning it perfectly is simple with the ability of the standoff to move without getting in the way of the holddown nut. Great feature!
