Answer:
I would recommend the use of at least two short screws to hold them in place on your rafters. Your panel screws will also go through these once installed for additional strength.

Answer:
You can secure them in place first to hold them in place while installing the panels. You can also just attach the panel directly to the closure strip, however, it is easier to have them secured in place first.

Why doesn't HD carry?

Why doesn't HD carry this plastic closure strip? They carry the plastic horizontal strips. Give customers a choice. The wood ones are not good! They split, and according to manufacturer, you shouldn't paint them. So they end up looking old and rotten.

Answer:
If your local store does not stock the plastic closures, you can purchase them online at www.homedepot.com. The model # for the vertical closure strip is 92772 and they are sold in packs of 6.

Answer:
We do not recommend painting the closure strips. There could be chemicals in the paint that could cause the panels to deteriorate.

Answer:
Yes, it is a universal vertical closure strip. Because it urns vertically up the corrugation it can be used with Palruf, Suntop, or Suntuf panels.

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Better than FOAM or WOOD spacers! These spacers are well worth the special order wait. They are all 24” in length and snap together forming an exact layout for the panels. I built a 10’ x 12’ awning and used both the horizontal and vertical closure strips together. BUT THEY ARE NOT DESIGNED TO OVERLAP. You cannot connect the vertical end-to-end at the same time you connect the horizontal end-to-end. So I cut all the vertical strips to fit between the horizontal strips since the horizontal spacing was the more exact layout I wanted. They hold together well enough that I could snap a 12’ section together on the ground and lift it up to the roof top without the sections falling apart. I will never use form or wood spacers again and think they should be an in-store item all the time. May 27, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Not bad at all Works great glad I listened and didn't get the foam ones July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Order received was partially wrong item 16 of the 60 ordered is the wrong product. They are rounded plastic closure strips instead of the squared off closures. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 24 in. Universal Plastic Closure Strips - Review Item was easy to cut and apply. It took very little time to finish this phase of the project. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Palruf Horizontal Closures MANDATORY for water proof seal! Fortunately for you all reading this (and unfortunately for me) I didn't put these in FIRST and you can learn from my mistake! I had to take up my panels and reinstall with these and the foam end caps SO I recommend you do these first for water proof seal. Easy to install, slotted ends to attach one to the next. These also have countersunk drill holes for screw down installation where possible. Mine was installed over glass so I used silicone caulk instead. BONUS these are so inexpensive, you'll be sorry if you don't!! January 15, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Performed as advertised! Closed off roof panels nicely and are holding up well to strong winds in the N.E. to date! January 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Satisfies customer a quality product. Worked well with the Suntuf panels September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to work with, completes the job! finishes off the installation and provided needed support for the corrugated panels. Easy to cut, easy to link together for one continuous length. My only recommendation would be to make them in a white primer finish instead of brown - that color stands out like a sore thumb and almost always will require a paint color change. May 19, 2015
