I had to buy an adapter to fit into the pump, mine is very old and I had to buy a check valve as well. The lengths of the cords do not match each other, so you will have slack on the power cord of about 10". The crock was very dry, and no rain so with three 5 gallon buckets we plugged it in and turned it on. Water rushed out fast and it shut off in about 15 seconds and check valve worked wonders. Vacuuming out the crock and putting in the valve was little over an hour. I hope this lasts. 4 stars.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 1handyhubby Easy replacement installation
Used this pump to replace an old tired pump. The pumps setup was easy, and the float installed easily to the pumps housing. There are two individual power cords to run to an electrical outlet. The electrical cord from the float plugs-in first. Next, the power cord from the pump connects to power through the plug from the float in a piggyback configuration. Unit pumps well, but could be quieter.

Nice, robust cast iron pump design with a relatively low profile design. Ample power cord length to get the pump down a relatively deep sump hole and still have cord left over to reach the outlet - other pumps I've seen fall short in the cord length. Built on float switch operates as it should and the pump is as quiet as it should be despite moving a GREAT amount of water per minute! 1-1/2" NPT port.

Description should include notice of (2) cords! The Pump's Cord must be plugged into the back of the Float Valve's Cord. THIS ADDS DEPTH. Used outdoors, it must be plugged into an IN-USE GFCI COVER. Most In-Use Covers available on the market (including Home Depot) allow for a single cord to be plugged in and cord bent down. With (2) cords plugged in back-to-back, you can no longer maintain an In-Use Cover closed (which is how it is intended to be used). This should be clearly stated somewhere in the Item's Description. Other than that, seems to be well built and extremely suitable for most Residential applications. I placed this outdoors in a low spot against my house where rainwater accumulates. Beats excavating 50' of French Drain. Pumps fast enough for the constant flash floods received in the Spring time!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Shagnasty Great little sump pump.
I got this sump pump for an area under my front porch I use for storage that occasionally gets flooded. I needed a pump that would fit inside a 5 gallon bucket. This one fit the bill perfectly.
The intake is about as close to the bottom of the bucket as possible and the stroke on the float switch is such that the pump doesn't come on until the water is almost at the top of the bucket.
Very well made pump I wish I had gotten a long time ago.
