Customer Questions & Answers

How many strings of lights can be connected together?

How many strings of lights can be connected together?
Asked by: DG
It really depends on the lamps you install and the size of the cord. We know the cord is 12/3 which is rated for 20 amps or 2400 watts. If you install 100 watt lamps in each socket you can install 24 lamps. 10 lamps per cord so only two cords. If you use 40 watt lamps you can install 60 lamps using 6 cords. (make sure your plugged into a 20 amp breaker or it will trip around 1800 watts if it's a 15 amp breaker.) Amps * Volts = Watts (20 * 120 = 2400 watts) 2400 watts / 100 watt lamps = 24 Lamps

Will a 60W light bulb work?

Here's the lightbulb I would like to use:
Asked by: Jd
Yes. The sockets are rated according to the description for 150 watts per lamp. You have a 60 watt equivalent but they only use 13 watts. You can fill the 10 sockets with these and only use 130 watts! Your good to go.
