Can I use this to hold 3/4" gravel in place on a sloped path (or should use metal wire instead)? Will this plastic just tear away?
Asked by: Strategerizer
Hi, we can not guarantee that Poultry Fence would work for this application. While it has many different uses, this one has not been tried or tested. The mesh openings are right at 3/4" x 3/4".

Gopher wire?

Is this product suitable for preventing gophers from digging through to open bottom planter boxes?

This could work for that purpose.

3 ft. x 25 ft. Black Poultry Hex Fence is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 50.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool product! I needed something to put against and iron fence to keep one dog inside the yard (she can get thru the bars on the fence..) I have been using metal hog wire..BUT it rubs against the fence and ruins the paint job. I DISCOVERED this PLASTIC "chicken wire" by accident! It is perfect! Also, I have a 4 foot section inside the house as a "temporary" dog gate...I use those 3M Command hooks on the door jamb...and then "hook" this netting over it. Keeps dogs out of the "cat feeding room" and a small hole cut thru the netting at the bottom, allows the cats the walk thru. It is then easy to take down, roll up and toss in the closet!! No more bulky metal dog "gates" needed!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Made a kitty corral Ordered two of these to put around my 14' x 14' deck railing to keep the cat from going out in the yard. Used Tenax 7 in. Black Poly Fence Ties (50-Pack) to secure the netting to the railing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small dogs too! I used the 3'H black plastic "poultry fencing" to complete a generous area for my two small dogs to frolic safely in the yard. I only wish I had painted the 4'H wooden stakes black - then the whole thing would have looked very unobtrusive. As it is, the fencing itself is nearly invisible and the dogs respect it nicely. I used black zip ties to attach the fencing to the stakes and garden staples to attach the fencing to the ground. Altogether I used 50' of fencing, 25 wooden stakes, a little over 50 zipties, and 50 garden stakes. The project was a great benefit at very little cost!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Black Poultry Fence I used this material to line my new black metal fence. It works great to keep the critters out, is easy to move into alignment with zip ties. I didn't cut it down...used dirt to bury the excess to get it to look even due to sloping property. Great product for the price. It is hardly visible and will work great for my vining rasberry bushes as they mature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Black Poultry Fence I used it to attach to a Wrought Iron Fence that has 4 inch spacing between each bar. Some how our 2 dogs are able to sqeeze in-between these even though their heads look to big to do this, not to mention the rest of their bodies. I attached the pieces I cut to size using plastic zip ties on the inside of the fencing. So far it's worked as planned and the dogs no longer are able to get to the Patio Screen Door to tear it up by jumping onto the Screen. The plastic itself could be made of a little heavier gauge but if it keeps working that will be fine as is. We will also have to see how durable it is in our Valley heat.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't keep rabbits out I bought this for 2 reasons to keep my small dog in the yard (since he can slip between wrought iron bars) and to keep rabbits out. It has worked fairly successfully to keep dog in, but the rabbits chew right through the plastic. I patched the first holes they made and now there are many more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from does not stop critters Looks great at first. Used it for an outside aviary (pigeons/chickens), but within a week mice/squirrels had eaten a huge section out of it. Had to repair with metal chicken wire and now it looks horrible. Would be great if they made this with wire interior and a plastic coating! So essentially this fencing did not work for my project and was a huge waste of money...gone in a few bites!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Puppy Guard We used this product to block our new puppy from getting through our wrought iron fence. Needed 150 linear feet of this product. Had difficulty finding the 3 foot black, but I was able to get it at home Depot. So far so good - we can now let our dog roam the yard. This guard now also keeps rabbits & skunks out as well so we feel that he is safer when he goes out. He is too young for rabies shots & were concerned about animal bites to him. Much easier to work with than chicken wire & the black product is hard too see so it is much more pleasing to the eye. It is more expensive than the green color, but worth the additional expense.
