I'm trying to mount a 32" Flatscreen into Drywall (No Studs) will these work for that?

Does the Weight rating increase with more toggles?

I'm needing to mount a 40 lb shelf unit 7 feet up on a wall. Once I get the books etc on the shelf, I expect the total weight to be 150-200 lbs. The 1/4 20 toggles are rated for just 80 lbs. What if I use 9 toggles to mount the shelving unit. Is my 200 lbs divided by the 9 toggles? In other words each of the nine toggles would be supporting around 22 lbs each. The top row might have a little more of the shear weight on them. Are the any issues with my application or approach? Thank you

Keep in mind that your drywall is held by a dozen drywall screws to keep it up. Too much weight on the drywall may rip the whole wall off. It happened to me on my clothes shelve when I have too much clothes on the rack. My recommendation is to find the stud and attach your shelve to it.

I think it comes in a 3/8 in the store, but this product is junk (see my review). Buy a better brand instead.

Trying to hang a 8ft foot lithonia light in garage # snap toggle and size would u recommend. weight limit x # of toggle?

My original plan was to use the power box to anchor the fixture but i seem to have metal ceiling joist behind the drywall so the box is not sturdy wnough to support the light fixture. I also was planning on using spring toggles but see these as easier to install and remove if necessary without losing the toggle

Customer Reviews

1/4 in. x 2-1/2 in. Toggle Straps with Screws (6-Pack) is rated 2.6 out of 5 by 28.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Work as advertised Maybe they changed the strap design? Mine looked nothing like the picture. I was careful pushing the slide forward after reading all the negative reviews. I installed three anchors with absolutely no problems. I predrilled the hole rather than rely on wiggling the toggle back/forth to make the hole. I can't imagine anyone the least-bit handy having trouble with these.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a piece of Junk! A good concept that is poorly executed. Each piece in the box is in a slightly different configuration, at least one piece in each of the 4 boxes I used was already righted when it came out of the box. I ended up loosing 6 toggles behind the wall because the strap, essentially a cheap harbor-freight zip tie, would break while tightening. Additionally, I lost 3 more toggles when trying to screw the bolts in. Stay away, save your money and frustration!

I bought a 6-pack (I really only needed 4) to put up a 32" TV mount. The problem is when you try to pull the tab out to secure the anchor to the inside of the wall. The plastic zip-tie mechanisim is (in theory) supposed to be broken off once it has been fully pulled back and things are anchored to the wall. In reality, THREE of the six broke off while pulling BEFORE they were anchored! This is likely due to the fact the zip function jams while you pull on it and requires a lot of wiggling to get it to move properly. The worst part is I now have to get another pack like this just to get the fourth screw mount in place (the hole in the wall is already drilled, and I don't want to take a chance using another type of anchor that may use a smaller hole). I'll be out another 30-minute trip to Home Depot and another 7 bucks and hopefully get just one in the next pack to work so I can finish the project.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Once a great product now garbage I'm a license contractor in California. I have used this product for many years. They are great for hanging TVs among other things. Some time in the near past the quality changed. Every part that comes with the toggle straps is cheaper; even the bag they come in. I'm guessing the manufacture, Hillman, is sacrificing quality for profit. They are now so cheaply made that when you insert the bolt the back of the toggle bolt falls off in the wall. I highly recommend a similar product made by Hilti. The Hilti's cost more and they work. The Hilti's are with the couple extra bucks. Do not waste your money on the Hillman product, pure garbage. If Home Depot values their customers, they should drop this product line.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked as Stated I read the reviews and wanted the Hilti, but only these were on the shelves. I can see where people might accidentally break the straps, but if you're patient and careful they work great. I hung my 55" TV on a 1950's drywall/plaster using 6 of these. I hung on the wall mount before putting up the TV. So it can hold at least 150lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lifesavers After hours of wasted effort pursuing other options I used these anchors to install a pedestal sink to a tiled wall when the blocking didn't align with the mounting holes.. If you're having trouble finding an anchor that really holds strong these are the ticket, forget the traditional toggles with their huge entry holes and chintzy bolts.. I think as long as you handle the plastic parts in a gingerly manner and make sure the toggle is properly aligned you shouldn't have problems- I did notice that the plastic seemed brittle but I removed and reinserted one toggle a few times and it didn't snap like some of the other reviewers mentioned. I love the beefy 1/4" 20 bolts that can be swapped out for longer hex heads for torquing down the mount in confined spaces (like the underside of a pedestal sink) Highly recommended for anything too heavy and important for plastic expanders or traditional toggles.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from waste of money I purchased these to mount a rack on the wall and the mounting holes missed the studs. These came in a package of six and five broke on installation. They were so stiff that I couldn't slide the keeper in place without breaking the guides, I even tried to silicone the guides to make them easier to slide, they still broke. I have used Hilti brand for years and never had a problem.
