Pricing on bulk items seems way off.

On your bulk items, it appears much more expensive to buy pallets rather than the individual bags. Perhaps someone should review your pricing.
Asked by: KS
There are 65 bags per pallet @ 40lb per bag. I've purchased 2 pallets at my local HD and had to make two trips to get them home with my truck. I paid the per bag price x 65 for the full pallet and they forklift it into my truck so I only have to worry about breaking my back unloading.

will it stay in a mound or like a ramp?
Asked by: Reece
Yes, it will stay in a mound. I put this around metal fence posts last year and it has not flattened down, it will pack down as time goes on, and that is what I wanted it to do.

There is a lot of sand and mulch, I would say it's probably 40/30/30. Not good for top dressing a lawn, but also not terrible for most usages and at $1.69/bag it's pretty reasonable. Great for filling low spots in your yard and MUCH better than the top soil I've gotten from WM and the blue hardware store, which have a ton of clay in them. I'm in NC, I have plenty of clay! I bought bagged top soil from 3 big box stores plus a large local garden center/farm. The local place is the same price and much higher quality SOIL, no sand and very minimal mulch. I will not buy this Timberline product again.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Trash I have bought about 100 bags of this junk over the past 2 years, mixing it with 20 bags of compost, $1.29 per bag.I had a large area beside my house to fill in. The first 80 bags were ok. An occasional small rock, bits of plastic, chunks of wood. As it settled and I could afford it, I'd get more. Last week I got 23 bags. It was more than 1/3 pea gravel! It wasn't real noticeable when I dumped it out. There was a very hard rain that night and when I looked at it the next day- large limestone rocks, little brown pea gravel, bits of plastic, string. I won't buy anymore of it at $1.89 plus per bag. I purposely didn't order a truck load of sifted soil over this period of ttime because of the $300 cost and the fear of johnson grass to battle. Now I wish I had.

I just bought 5 bags of this stuff to fill in areas in my lawn that had some depressions. 2 of the bags had finely shredded wood substrate that was coated in black dye. I applied it to my grass and watered it in and what I had was nothing but finely shredded wood substrate. Home Depot boast on providing the best value for its customers, but based on the high percentage of negative reviews this product should be pulled. So PLEASE AVOID this product.

I needed to fill in spots in my lawn to enhance new growth of grass. It is mulch & finely ground mulch. I used it and it did absolutely nothing for my lawn. I gave some away for "mulch" & used my 2 bags left over as mulch. this stuff is terrible. It is NOT top soil at all. Wasted over $12.00.
