Is this model mulch-ready or does it require a "plug" for mulching?

Asked by: Anonymous
NO!!! This one is nice, because it is mulch ready. My old one required that I insert a plug, but this on has the mulching plug built into the bag door flap.

Is it hard to push? We currently have a lawnmower you have to push the handle and it mowes the speed you are walking and I don't like it. I think it

is like pushing a non self propelled lawnmower. Can someone tell me if this is the way this one is?
Asked by: Anonymous
It is self propelled. You can vary the speed with the handle

22 in. Kohler Low Wheel Variable Speed Gas Self Propelled Mower is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 980.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Toro Mower with a Strong Smooth Kohler Engine! The Self Propelled Toro was only 4yrs old with the Kohler Engine. It was donated to me. Old gas was left in it, so it would not start. To all, who use " Old Gas" and leave it in any mower with out "stable additives" your asking for trouble, and don't blame Toro! Add this additive to new gas & it will keep for a year. So, I drain out the old gas and took the carburetor apart and cleaned all the parts, including the metering jet assembly. Reassembled everything; total time 1.5hrs. If you have a "no start problem" because of old gas, total Carb. disassembly is required. Pulled the cord, and it started on the first pull! That Kohler Engine has a Nice Smooth Powerful Sound! This Toro Mower runs like new again!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst Purchase Ever This mower has been nothing but trouble from the beginning. Bought in the fall and used it a couple of times (2015). The following spring it would not start. Took it to the repair shop and spent $100 on maintenance. Tried to start it about a week after bringing it home and it wouldn't start. Back to the shop it went. Next, it started once. On the second time, it wouldn't start. Back to the shop. This is my third year with this mower and I am sick and tired of the stop-and-go attitude of this machine. We've tried to start it now for the third time and still no go. We've about jerked our arms out of the socket. This mower is a piece of junk. Thought Toro would be a good brand to buy, not so. Very disappointed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buy protection plan Part of the startup mechanism that controls the throttle is plastic and broke. Only had the mower for a year. If you plan on purchasing this mower for the low cost, either buy a better model or get the protection plan.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality mower The employee at Home Depot was extremely helpful when we were choosing which mower to buy. He claimed he had his similar Toro mower now for 15 years and it is still going strong. We unpacked it quite easily and our first mow was amazing. Our lawn was overgrown but the mower handled it well and made it look very nice. The self propelled feature was nice and overall we had no difficulty with it. I'm excited to keep using it and look forward to having it for a long time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Finicky Carburetor I heard Toro was a wonderful brand and my parents' has one that lasted forever, so I was fairly confident that I bought this mower 3 years ago. Apparently my confidence was in vain as I've had a terrible time keeping the mower running because of a very finicky carburetor. The mower died within the first year, took it in to get it fixed, and they told me the carburetor needed to be replaced. Because of gas being left in the tank, the warranty was voided. Okay, so lesson learned: always run the gas out at the end of each mowing. Unfortunately, even after doing this and switching to completely ethenol-free, I still had problems. Not long after, it stopped again. Frustrated and not willing to keep pouring money into it, I had a friend help me take a look. It was the carburetor again. He showed me how to get to the carburetor and take it apart so it can be cleaned (for something that needs so much attention, it's hard to get to and clean). I've had to clean it two additional times since. Many people have told me Toro's are great and are surprised I've had so many problems, so I'm not sure if all Toro's have similar problems. The problem may be the Kohler engine or it may be this is just a particularly bad model. But regardless, I would highly recommend you AVOID this mower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy Start Toro Lawnmower Really like the easy start of this Toro Lawnmower. No priming needed with this mower. Mows and mulches good. Only consideration is that the gas cap is somewhat difficult to get off and on. Really glad I got this mower.
