Planning on installing about 400sq ft of this in a very small retail store over existing concrete. Does it require a underlayment to do so?

Answer:
No, as long as your concrete floor is fairly level and the key is to clean the concrete very thoroughly. I would recommend vacuuming the concrete then running a wet mop over it to make sure it is good and clean before installation.

No, but since it is vinyl, the floor should be smooth. Any area that is not can be felt and seen after it settles. We put ours down over existing vinyl floor. The old floor had a tear in the vinyl and we did not place anything in that area. You could feel the area where the tear was after about a week of it being down. I lifted it and pried apart the sticky section (was a bear) and placed a small piece of scrap vinyl in the hole. Once it was settled back down, the issue was resolved. In your install make sure you sweep very well and avoid any divots in the concrete larger than a quarter or so. Read Less

Answer:
I did not use an underlayment. Simply swept the concrete and laid the planks. My results were great. The flooring pro at my Home Depot store recommended using a sealer on floor if I had moisture issues. Again, I opted to just lay directly on subfloor. Took me about 4 hours to do 350 sq ft.

We do not recommend using this product in a retail or commercial area. This products warranty is only good for a residential area. You could try the ULTRA, Plus or Ceramica product. All of these prodcuts have a commercial warranty. I would recommend using a 6 mill poly when installing over concrete.

Answer:
No, lay it together right along the seams as tight as you can. It helps to remove quarter round and slip it a little underneath the wall, then replace quarter round after installation.

I laid the planks next to the wall when starting a row. when I got to the end of the row, I cut the last plank to fit. This always left a small gap of about of about 1/4 to 1/8 of an inch. This is enough to allow for any expansion issues. This small gap varied with each row. I didn't worry so much about precision cuts because I installed 1/2 wide baseboards after installation. Don't apply wax. It will build up in the ridges and it doesn't needto be waxed. Clean it with a damp mop with either water or soap and water.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great product for basements and bathrooms, or where ever damp or wet conditions may exist. Our latest 3000 sq/ft installation was in a basement that had past water issues, the old engineered wood floor was ruined by the damp conditions. I chose to install this over a dri core base to add to the protection and to allow air flow in between the floor and the concrete. The product is straight forward to install, once you have practiced placing the strips. Once they contact each other, re positioning these can be a challenge if the two adhesive strips have bonded. The sub floor / surface must be clean and free of any debris, or it will show up in the final product. Overall, its a good value and looks great ! Just practice a bit on the joining of the panels to get a tight finished seam. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This floor just made my reno complete!! We are very pleased with the flooring. It was easy enough for me to do all by myself. Looks great and I'm getting many compliments on the appearance and durability. March 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent easy to install flooring I've already laid most of my house in Country Pine and wanted a bit different look in the smaller two bedrooms. Love the Blond Maple next to the Country Pine. Very easy to install ... just take your time you will have a professional installation. May 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 6 in. x 36 in. Blonde Maple Resilient Vinyl Plank Flooring (24 sq, ft./Case) I've purchased this particular product in the past from Home Depot and installed it in my kitchen. The ease of installation made the job a snap! The flooring gets extensive traffic and has held up beyond my expectations. The color and finish have not faded and have retained their original beauty. I am 100% sold on this product and would recommend it to anyone who inquires about it. May 10, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 6 IN. X 36 IN. BLONDE MAPLE RESILIENT VINYL PLANK FLOORING Excellent product, great quality, I wish I had invented it. The Home Depot man told me how and where to see a demo online. Was easy. Takes a customer who is careful to do things properly for a perfect outcome. Don't get in a rush. You will be rewarded, pat yourself on the back. July 7, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Poor adhesive Have put down a lot of this flooring without any problems. We aclimated these boxes. Laid down as directed. Hand rolled over them. They did not have adequate adhesive to stick together. Contacted Home Depot and they would not replace them since they didn't install floor. Very disappointed. March 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Flooring We purchased this flooring for our remodeled master bath. I didn't want to walk across a cold tile floor in the morning, nor the expense and complexity of installing a warming grid under it. The floor looks great with the cherry cabinets and natural stone we used. It was easy to install and doesn't show dirt. April 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by no mess, fast easy install My first flooring installation -- easy! Looks beautiful! Doing the rest of the basement with a different pattern. March 22, 2016
