Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We like the looks of the Country Pine even better than we thought we would. This type flooring does cause a little clap noise when walking across it. FYI Home Depot does not carry the trim in the store to go with the Allure flooring but it is available online. FYI the floor being laid over must be very level. If it is not some type filler/leveling agent must be applied to create a very level floor with no low spots. FYI in addition if laid over concrete the concrete must be sealed or a moisture barrier must be installed between the concrete and the Allure flooring. Note: we did have the flooring laid by a professional. There were a lot of closets and door ways to be cut around so I didn't feel comfortable laying it myself. July 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A delight, during & after installation The ease of installation cannot be given high enough accolades! It was a joy to install, even though I had no prior flooring installation experience. There was great uniformity of pieces which helped create exact, even seams with ease. The texture and differentiation of pattern makes it look and FEEL underfoot like actual wood planks! This product is extremely resilient, resisting scratches, cuts, & dents even through extensive construction over & around it, dropping logs (actual 15 ft lengths of trees) & more on its beautiful finish, as well as dragging large pieces of furniture, which did not affect the finish or seams. Completely satisfied customer! November 5, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Totally change your look needed to replace bathrroom floor. Chose the Allure since it was a small area to cover and I could deal with the learning curve before starting a bigger project. Instructions were excellent and even told how to make templates from the enclosed paper inserts. Cutting the planks wasn't too difficult. Use a utility knife to score and snap for straight cuts and whittle with the blade for round cuts. Job was done in a day and looks great. March 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent!!! Excellent!!! Excellent!!! OK - I have now used this product twice. The first time, I installed it in my master bath and my son's bathroom. That was a little tricky - I was very new at DIY type work, so there was a pretty big learning curve, and I wasted a little with mistakes - still cheaper than having someone else do it. Then, there was a water leak in my rental. I tried to go cheap with peel and stick planks - however, after all of the floor prep you have to do, the cheap stuff ends up being a little more expensive! So, I took all of that back and got the country pine luxury planks - they went down SO EASILY! It is a small bedroom, so there were only a few tricky places - like that last row. However, with a T square and a razor, even the tricky parts are not too hard. I also learned you really do not need to press really hard with the razor - just score it lightly - they snap perfectly! If you have tiny pieces to snap, save your fingers and use a pair of pliers - easy peasy. I love that they are durable - the floor in my bathroom has been there for about 5 years with no troubles. With renters, these are the obvious choice! When you consider the price for carpet, plus installation, plus cleaning the carpets every time renters change, plus the fact that carpet looks horrible after the first renter - you really can't go wrong with these! If they spill something, it can just be mopped right up - no stains! As soon as my renter moves out (they are not clean people - and they completely ruined the carpets beyond repair), I am laying these in the rest of the house - the job will probably take me maybe 2 days, tops - and the second day would just be reserved for putting down the quarter round. I found that the country pine color is very forgiving - if you accidentally have a tiny gap between planks, the grey underneath really does not how just looks like part of the pattern. By the way - quarter round is not hard to do! You can cut it with a hand saw, and if you use a mitre cut box (again, around $10), the corners are easy - just realize you will use caulk to fill in the little gaps. Just a note if you are laying in the bathroom - you will want to take your toilet UP - otherwise, it will not look nice. It is not as hard as people think - just get a new wax ring (about $10) for when you put the toilet back down. I definitely recommend these floors - they are simply beautiful! October 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Such Beautiful Floors! I cannot stress enough how great this floor looks! I still can't believe we did it ourselves! I must admit we were worried that we were in way over our heads but the installation was a breeze. Be sure and get an exacto knife with lots of extra blades for cutting. We actually used my kitchen scissors for the curved parts around the door trims in the house that were curved. It really turned out amazing and we are extremely happy with how well it turned out. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by So Simple a 13 yr. old can do it..... Like I said it is so simple to put down a 13 yr old can do it and he did actually do 90% of a 32 X 18 front room. ( We did do the Front Room and front bedroom in Oak and my Bedroom in Country Pine ) I love the Country Pine but Dad thought it would be too Dark for the Front Room and Front Bedroom....BUT I still think it would of been better with the Country Pine. Going to do the other 2 Bedrooms Later on. The 12 yr old will do his bedroom in Oak I guess and the other Nephew will be done by me and Dad in Country Pine or Oak....going to do the Small Bathroom 4X8 with the Country Pine. To Clean I use a Broom to Sweep....then a Microfiber Dust Mop....then change Microfiber Heads and use Halloway House Cleaner ( Blue Label ) and then change Microfiber Heads again and use Halloway House ( Green Label ) Multi Surface Floor Finish { the Wax } and let Dry I did use Rejuvenate as another Layer......But in my Closet I put on 2 layers of Halloway House Green Label and that was it...... I used a Fan to Accelerate the Quickness in the Drying. February 18, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to install, looks and feels great. I used this in a fitness studio and it was so easy to cut and install. It looks great, has a texture to it to make it more wood like. It has held up for the last 3 years to kids, scooters, bikes, lots of jumping and running around and moving furniture. I find my self seeking out another reason to use it. October 8, 2013
