The color of these tiles is Taupe; tan with a mauve tone (see pic below). We have used it in our bedroom, it looks great, it cleans great. Installation was simple; it took only a few hours to do a 15 x 15 foot bedroom. I've vacuumed it several times and it cleans well.

Installed in a couple hours in the kids room - quick fix - not the highest quality carpet (i.e., it is thin, no cushion), but this was clear prior to purchase. Effective, looks sharp/clean, went down easy, forgiving around the walls/easy to fit with a razor. Would use again in this situation without question. It is essentially a thin tile with a tiny bit of carpet fuzz. :-)

The carpet tile is very thin but easy to install, pill-and-stick. Clean the floor, no dust or bear concrete, paint on top if it feels sandy. Use dark paint if you use dark color tile. All you need is good scissors, knee pad, and old towel to press the tile. No glue. I would install 10 pieces at the time, leave the stickers so you know which one you just did, then go with the towel, remove stickers and press. You have to follow the pattern to look good. I bought dark brown tiles first but it was too dark and boring. Ordered beige tiles to make a pattern. Removed brown tiles (you can just pull out) and inserted new in that space. Once I added some lighter squares the room looked bigger and more like fun/recreation room. I read all comments and it helped to understand the product based on people suggestions. Make sure you keep the angle at 45% otherwise the tiles will shift and you will have space on the edges. Also, donât overlap or connect to tight, it will buck up, the tiles are not flexible, it wonât stick. On the edges, do not remove film, measure how much you need to cut, use scissors, remove film when ready to install. I missed some angle and knew it will show the space, I spray painted under on the floor, same brown color, to hide that space. Overall I am happy with the product. Only wish it will be a little thicker as you can see through it, again, spray paint under if needed. Hope my comments are useful.

Rated 5 out of 5Â by Danielle Great product!
These carpet tiles are great, especially for the money. Yes they are thin but they work well in our bonus room. They were very easy to install and took us only an hour with two people in a 170sqft area. We installed them right over the existing linoleum and they adhered just fine. I would highly recommend these, just understand they are not super plush.

As others have said here, they are on the thin side. But not tissue-paper thin or anything. Just like unpadded piece of thin commercial-style berber carpet with glue on the back.
The glue isn't gooey or super-sticky, but was just fine for laying on bare plywood in a closet, and plenty strong once the tile was pressed down with a rolling pin. Installation was easy, had no problem pulling the backing off. Size did vary from box to box and isn't a precision-accurate 18" but variation was minor - like 1/16th inch - and easily dealt with my trimming the edge from a tile or two. Cuts easily with a good pair of scissors, or use a box cutter and straightedge if you want precision.
The finished job was fast & easy and looks really nice. Perfect for a low-usage area like a closet or a guest room. Wouldn't necessarily use it in a living room or other high-visibility, high-traffic area. I suspect it wouldn't hold up well, and you definitely CANNOT disguise the fact it's carpet tile... the seams are most definitely visible, even with a pretty careful install.
