I am little sensitive to harsh chemicals and the fact that It's advertised as a great non-toxic coating, I decided to buy it. It indeed is exactly that and bonus is that no strong paint stench. It is easy to coat and did not take long to dry once the sun is out. It was little sticky when wet so avoid using your deck for that time and plan it accordingly. It may take little longer to dry if the weather is cloudy or colder. Once completed and dry, it is clear and looks nice. As an added bonus, it enhances the wood grain appearance.

APPEARANCE: Shinier than I'm used to from a sealer. Almost created a shellac-like shell around the wood, rather than just soaking in. I don't mind it at all for the stairs, but I would apply carefully to deck boards or furniture. Brush strokes or streaks will show in the finish.
APPLICATION: Very different from other wood sealers I've used (which soak in completely). Although very liquid in the can, its thickness is immediately apparent when you apply it. As you can see in the pictures, it is thick enough to create an uneven finish if you aren't careful. Make sure you wipe away any excess within a few minutes, as it does dry quickly.
SMELL: Not bad at all. Doesn't have the strong smell of a stain, just a light smell of glue or maybe a non-VOC paint.
SEAL: Very good so far. It rained two days after application. Water beaded up nicely. Given the thicker finish I expect the beading effect to last longer than other sealers.

This sealer has a very faint, almost no smell. It will work to seal almost anything, even plastic! I called and talked to the manufacturers and they are super helpful and nice. Wish I could just go to the store and buy it and wish it was a little cheaper. Seems like it will go a long way though!

Wood sealer was applied with a brush, looked opaque when wet but dried clear. Wood boards have a natural looking satin finish with this product.

This sealant works very well. It looks white and milky in the can but dries completely clear. The fact that it's non-toxic and VOC free is definitely an added bonus.

I have young kids and dim pets, so a non-toxic seal was a must. This stuff works great, and I still have half the pail after sealing a fence and a compost box.

I got this to use on my outdoor projects. I build bird houses and feeders and need to use a sealer to protect the items long term. Since they are out in all kinds of weather 365 days a year in NE Pennsylvania, you need a good wood sealer to unsure they last for years. It was extremely wet this summer and all the feeders I built last spring had this sealer on them. The water beads nice and rolls right off the wood. No way was my seed going to get any damage from moisture with all the rain we had. Everything I used it on held up nicely all summer and are STILL out there looking great. I feed the birds all year round, so check the feeders every other day to fill them. This would be great to use on a deck. It was easy to use, clean up was quick, and it covered well with little product. I did not have to use a lot or do extra coats.

I'm always a huge fan of these products that are water soluble (because that means that clean-up is easy) so I look for products that are. This one in VOC free , and green as well. When I opened it, it appeared to be a cloudy white substance, which looks just like the water soluble polyurethane I use for all my wood projects.
I applied this on the wood, and it was like a coating of glue going on. It is a little thick, kinda like poly. When it dried, it did dry clear, and with a nice satin finish.
Clean up was easy with water, so I will be able to reuse the equipment I used to apply this to the wood.
In all, a great product. I will be coating my daughter's playhouse with it next.
