CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 3.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by horrible quality I've been involved in woodworking for over forty years, although I no longer do it professionally. I do remember a time or you could buy AC Plywood and build some pretty nice cabinets. The face veneers on most of these panels really look horrible and require filling before you could paint, let alone stain. I found that once I cut into these panels I find huge voids, some as long as 5 or 6 inches, and many many smaller voids, which makes using power tools like routers with pilots impossible. Trying to use fasteners like bisquits or pocket screws can be very aggravating, as the edges of the plywood fall apart. You never know when you're going to hit a void. I can also say that once you cut these panels into smaller strips, good luck on keeping anything flat. Even in small 15 x 30 panels I cut up, there was a good half of an inch bow to the board. If there's not something to flatten this stuff out, you've got problems. At the very least it makes assembling things a problem as you're fighting tension in the wood. I easily spend a couple extra hours filling and sanding one panel to make something that look presentable. Truly horrible quality stuff that I would not recommend to anyone. I would say it's well worth the extra money to get yourself a good sheet of birch plywood or Baltic Birch. The hardwood panels sold in store seem to be of much better quality, but generally do not come as thin as 1/2". Sad part is there's really not much of an alternative to these panels short of particle board. March 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice quality I'm replacing the back panels on some guitar speakers cabinets to convert them to closed-back. I usually use Baltic Birch for speaker cabinets but started wondering if it was really worth the cost. There are a few small voids in the center of there are very few. The smooth side is perfect for bonding tolex. The layers seem to be bonded securely because there is minimal splintering when cut. For 1/4 the price of Baltic Birch and availability I like it a lot. Home Depot cuts for free too so you can take it home in your car. October 1, 2014
