Can you drill holes in to it and bolt to existing wood posts?

Asked by: Jujubee
Hello and thank you for your question. We do not offer hardware to attach to wood posts and we don't recommend it, doing so will void the warranty.

It keeps my dogs from seeing who's walking down the street, unlike my deteriorating wood fence. I also bought two 5ft gates, and made a 10ft double swing gate across my driveway. When doing gates, use 4X4 wood posts with 96'', 4X4 vinyl, post sleeves in stock at HD. This is extra support for your gates. 118'' exactly between gate posts, for a double gate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beats Wood Difficult to find decent wood anymore. Vinyl is the way to go. This Cypress is a quality product with a wood grain look. Has u channels to attach to posts so there are no gaps between panels and posts. No staining, no rotting, no board gaps. Manufacturer says to put posts and panels up at the same time. It's hard enough to get posts all aligned by themselves-can't imagine trying to do it with a complete panel attached. Filled the post holes 2/3 the way full of packed dry cement mix, then topped with wet cement to finish-worked fine. Do not like stark white vinyl fences but this looks nice. Durability? Who knows, but it sure looks good now. Will never use wood for fence again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from problem with gate kit. I love this fencing. it's very easy to assemble but when I put in the gate kit, It says place posts length of the gate plus 3" for hard ware. That is 100% wrong. post should be length of the gate plus 1". if not you will end up with a 3" Gap or 1.5" on each side. as in the photo and the latch won't reach the post. thank God home depot is fixing this issue. but all in all.. 5 star very easy to do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Nice, above average quality Veranda Pro Series I purchased this fence from HD in April of 2016. I live in South Florida. It took me approximately 2.5 months to complete. This was the sand color which goes up in price to $115 a panel. I purchased 15 panels and 2 gates with the solar light caps (nice touch). Few things to comment here. If you are particularly handy, patient and are not afraid to dig holes manually, you will be ok. You need to know how to measure, plumb, run a string line and perhaps make a few cuts using a plunge saw and table saw. Hardest thing is digging holes. I used the easy dry concrete you pour in the hole then add water as opposed to mixing your mud. Follow instructions for the fence installation. Make sure to do post, panels, post, it works smooth that way. Pat at the customer service line for Varanda fencing was great. Very helpful on install tips. You can tell he has actually installed a few on his own. I have received rave reviews and the sand color looks better than the white. Seems sturdy and solid if you follow specs (inserted metal stiffeners for each post). Well see when a hurricane comes along, how it will hold up..LOL. Look at my before and afters, it totally enhances my privacy now and I love it. I consider myself above novice as far as being handy. I can tell you I probably saved at least $3K to $4500 just doing myself as I have received estimates for an install and the fence companies charge half of the price of the fence in labor alone. Hard work, especially in Florida digging down 3 feet, sometimes hitting limestone, jack hammer time. Rented the little power auger from HD. It was great for ripping out old fence and the auger works good up to about a foot down until you hit rock!! The rest is brute labor in SOFLA 100 degree heat. I LIKE SAVING MONEY DIY, NOT FOR THE FAINT HEARTED AND AFRAID TO GET DIRTY! Highly recommend

Rated 1 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for, overpriced junk IMO! I had to extend the 6' privacy fence so i thought i would buy this, looks almost identical to what i have. After purchasing and bringing home i noticed how cheap these panels are. You will discover the core of the fence panels are made of cheap plastic covered by a fingernail of white vinyl. I took whole order back, will be buying from fence supply co., paying a little more, but happier not to have these cheap ones.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pvc fence This pvc fece is not even 6ft tall. I removed my old 6ft wood fence that was across my rear property and now since this fence is only 68inches tall, I can see more of the rear view that I wanted to hide. I called professional fence companies to ask how tall is their fences and they told me that Home Depot and Lowes only sell this and is not the first time they heard of this issue. It seems the fence is shorter because the fence manufacturer cuts their cost by .12 by making the fence shorter. Also the panels are thin and made of recycled old plastic capped over. How long will this last.?? FENCE BUYER BEWARE> BUY FROM A PROFESSIONAL FENCE COMPANY, NOT THESE BIG BOX STORES!! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Given time the fence fades and does not look nice at all While the fen ce looks great for the first year it fades in an uneven matter. Its very disappointing after all the work of putting it in. Its not easy to install. I would never buy it again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Product was easy to install, lighter than wood, and looks good Product was easy to install, lighter than wood, and looks good. However, I returned more than half the posts purchased at Home Depot because they were scratched or stained. The manufacturer needs to cover posts with plastic to prevent damage (It's interesting to note that vinyl panel card board boxes are covered with plastic. Why not posts???) Protecting posts would result in fewer returns by buyers and less cost to the manufacturer and Home Depot.
