Can I use this on a plaster wall??

Can I use this on a plaster wall??
Asked by: RM
I've used it on plaster walls and never had a problem. You need to do a light scratch coat over it and let it dry before applying the final coat. I always add a little concrete glue to my plaster mix to assure adhesion.

Can this be used on a drywall ceiling?
Asked by: littleexperience
I'm needing (4) up to half a piece of sheetrock-sized pieces of this to patch things in my house, so I'm wondering if this is available? Or do I need to use an entire piece of screening to get these patches done? And how to get texture patches to be invisible after it's done?

Will this sag if I use it patch a 7"x7" hole in a ceiling?

Asked by: Paul
Way to patch a hole that large in a ceiling is to get a piece of drywall larger than the hole size and put it on the attic side of the of the ceiling, then use drywall screws to attach it to the ceiling from the ceiling side. You will then have a recessed area in the ceiling which you can roughly cut a piece of drywall to piece you already attach to fill in that void. At that point you can you the repair kit to cover the perimeter of the area you filled in with drywall. I use this method to fill in unwanted ceiling lights in homes.

Do you need to fill whole with piece of dry wall prior to using the patch directly over the hole?

Asked by: SK
No you can use this right over the hole. A few coats of joint compound and a little sanding is all you need.

8 in. x 8 in. Drywall Repair Self Adhesive Wall Patch is rated 3.6 out of 5 by 13.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabuloous All I can is 'wow'. This product is fantastic. I had to patch a hole in the ceiling and this product practically did it all by itself. All I had to do was peel off the backing, cut it to size, stick it on the wall, mud over it, sand the mud, prime and paint. Great job 8 x 8 inch self adhesive wall patch, I salute you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Product!! This is first time I used this product and it is great. The patch is super strong and adhesive. Some prior negative review comments are off base. Of course it didn't fix the hole - it's a patch. I cut my 8x8" patch with tin snipes to cover two good sized holes. The patches became one with the wall. The steel plate in the patch is super strong. I will never bother with old fashion patching, inserting sheetrock, again. This is better and stronger. You won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I removed a mirror from my bathroom wall, behind it was a hole. The hole was about 12 inches long by 2 inches wide. Instead of cutting a piece of drywall to fit in such an awkward spot, I bought this drywall patch. I cut it into two pieces, 8 inches long by 4 inches wide. Sanded the area to where it was slightly below the surface of the drywall, applied mud to the wall then places the patches over the mud. Then I floated mud on top of the patch. It took two coats of mud to completely hide the patch and float it to where it was invisible. It worked perfect for what I needed. Way easier than using a piece of drywall to patch it. I highly recommend it. It went on easy and is practically invisible. The hardest part was floating it all out. But that’s the hardest part in drywall anyway.
