Is the WaterWorks FlexRITE 5/8 in. dia. x 75 ft.... kink free?
Asked by: DB
No it is not. I would not recommend this hose unless you keep it on a reel/spool.

Can you use this water for drinking water?

Asked by: Csato
That depends on how the water is in your area. My parent's house is well water and we used to drink from the hose all the time, other places have spouts that you aren't supposed to drink from. You'd have to check with your water company.

FlexRITE 5/8 in. Dia x 100 ft. Water Hose is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 212.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Piece of Garbage! You will spend more time removing kinks out of the hose rather than using it for watering! Complete waste of money! DO NOT BUY!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Light Weight, Leak Free 100-foot Garden Hose I recently replaced the longer of my two garden hoses with the 100’ FlexRITE Heavy Duty Garden Hose. My old hose had gotten kinked up and damaged over time, so it was past time to replace it. The FlexRITE hose comes with lead free couplings, is claimed to have a 400 psi burst strength, and has an abrasion resistant jacket. I think the lead free couplings may make this hose appropriate for use with potable water, but the packaging doesn’t specify its suitability for this purpose. The water source end of the hose, has a strong “hose armor” tension protector. One of the major problems I had with my previous hose was a kink that developed right at the water spigot. This hose shouldn’t have that problem since the hose armor will absorb some of the energy when I drag it around the garden, and help the last several inches of hose maintain a tube shape. The FlexRITE hose seems to be very stiff and doesn’t flatten out or kink easily, even when it’s been warmed up by the sun. Of course this means the hose is also a bit less flexible when I use it in my garden. It has a definite tendency toward maintaining a coiled shape as I unwind it. This wouldn’t be too noticeable on a hose reel or caddy but the hose always wants to twist a lot as it’s extended or retracted. My wife likes the 100-foot length of this hose since she can reach nearly every corner of our garden with it, and given the length, the hose seems to be relatively light. Personally I think I’d prefer a more flexible hose material that unwinds easier even if it were heavier. The fittings are of good quality, but be sure there is a washer firmly in place on the water source end, or the hose will leak when under pressure. Note, that the hose should come with a washer when you purchase it, so if the washer is missing, either return your hose for one with a washer, or obtain a replacement washer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hose survives Texas heat! This hose has excellent coupling attachments - large and easy to put on and take off - you can use your entire hand and not just your fingertips. It is a heavy hose. When I first started to uncoil it I had a hard time. It was a bit like fighting a python snake to uncoil it. After I got it uncoiled I let it sit outside in the Texas heat for two days - that is important - the hose got much easier to handle and not fight you because of stiffness. It is now easier to pull around and you can tell it will last a long time. So far I have had zero kinks - good sign. Looks like this hose will last many years. There ya go!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great hose! This is a great hose, it's sturdy and not too heavy. At first, it does kink a lot. I think it's because it comes so tightly coiled. But, after you stretch it some, it doesn't kink as much. It's not completely kink free, but it does resist it somewhat. I'd imagine with a hose reel, there wouldn't really be many problems with this. It connects well and easily to the faucet, little to no effort there! Our yard is small, and we thought our 50 ft hose would have been long enough, but you should definitely get a longer hose that you think! Don't underestimate your needs, a longer hose means you can get around objects without much effort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Large connector and lightweight I love the large connector, it's thicker, easier to grip and easy to turn. It's so much better than the old smaller, thin metal connectors, plus it will not warp out of shape if you accidentally step on it. The hose is lightweight and is thinner than some other 100' hoses which is a welcomed change since this one is so much easier to pull out and reel back in, even when full of water. It will twist kink fairly easily, especially when empty so I recommend turning on the hose before you wind and unwind it and you'll have better luck avoiding kinks (I know I did). I like that this hose is lightweight yet still heavy duty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Heavy Duty Hose!! This hose is a must have for anyone that owns a hose. It has a very solid and heavy duty feel. The hoses doesn't appear kink much.... Unsure of whether or not that is because it is new or not. The hose has very heavy duty brass fittings, which is HUGE!!! Why build & sell a heavy duty hose with cheap fittings? Not here!! The brass fittings make it so easy to screw and unscrew from the water supply. I would definitely recommend. I have used old hoses for so long & couldn't be any happier that I got this hose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from HEAVY DUTY Made in America this hose has the feel of quality. Heavy crush proof brass fittings and with a 400 PSI burst rating. This is a heavy hose, much heavier than any I've ever owned. It comes with a limited lifetime warranty. The brass fittings are oversize giving you the ability to get a good grip to tighten things to keep leaks and drips minimized or stopped. It is heavy to move around when full so it's not great for lightweight yard work, but excellent for those necessary long runs. It's much easier to deal with when empty and the hose is heated up over 70 degrees to make it more flexible. This will be an excellent hose to have and hopefully never worry about replacing for a long time.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Solid hose but poor weld at the joints. I needed a new hose so I searched around and this one had pretty good reviews. Once I got it I hooked it up and when it is under pressure (i.e. If the water is on and the hose isn't in use) water started spraying out of the connector ends of the house where the welds are in the metal. They are pin hole size holes but a lot of them. Not exactly a good thing if you are using it to wash a car or in between watering plants.
