Asked by: mike
Your pump might be like mine was set on 220 volts if so you can change the volts on it pretty easy. You might want to check it if you haven't already done that.

Will a water heater work as a tank?

Asked by: Jimbo1231
No,an approved tank is a captive air tank, it has a bladder with an air charge in the top. For the system to function properly you need the tank with an air charge or your system will cycle off an on, as water is in compressible.

Easy installation, super pumping power, wonderful water pressure, quiet and smooth running motor. We couldn't afford to replace the old Red Jacket with another due to the price. This Wayne helped us in so many ways. Had it since October and no complaints. Hopefully it'll last for many years. Quick delivery as well. I couldn't be more pleased. I highly recommend this Wayne product.

It required a slight modification the plumbing (2 fittings and about 10 minutes of work) and took 30 minutes to install. Primed the pump turned it on and I had water. Has been running about 2 weeks now with no problems. I am drawing on nearly a 28 foot head. I have a foot valve at the bottom of the well and had the pipe to the pump full of water. The pump is quieter than the Craftsman

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Easy to install As other reviewers said, it is the quietest pump I have owned. I just hope it will be the last one I will have to replace. The well water we have attacks most metals except brass and I had a cast iron Volute before and the water just ate up the fins and made it useless. This pump has different fins made up of a special plastic, so I hope they will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Much better than expected Was not sure what to expect from a fairly low priced pump; am used to spending big bucks on goulds pumps, etc. This was a straight forward installation; you provide the electrical hook-up. It's been 3 months since installation and this pump has worked flawlessly in my lake house application. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great inexpensive pump! Perfect pump for the shallow well owner. I had a 3/4 hp Berkeley shallow well pump that was 3 times as expensive and conked out after one year of moderate spring/summer use. Rather than pay the $450 it was going to take to repair the old pump, I found this one for only $150 and decided it was worth taking a chance. And I'm glad I did. It was easily interchangable with the Berkeley after attaching a simple electrical plug and has been working beautifully for the past month. I was also pleasantly surprised that this pump had a pressure switch built on (I don't think that feature was noted in the product description) as I was expecting to have to take the one off my old pump and add it to this one. I feel I made a great decision with this pump.

Big freeze froze my pump and cracked the casing. No fault of the pump. My pump house wasn't insulated enough. The first one did the job just fine and I'm sure there will be no difference in this one.
