Rated 5 out of 5 by The right tool, right price A local radio communications shop wanted to charge me $80 for a solder gun with less wattage. This tool comes with solder, so I didn't have to buy that for the small job I was doing. I like the extra tips with different shapes-- I've already used the tips for other heat applications (besides soldering). One thing when using the iron: it takes a few seconds (say 5 -6 sec) to get truly hot at the highest wattage. So if you want to limit how hot you get your piece (in my case, coax connections-- I didn't want to melt the plastic dielectric) you need to factor in the time it takes just to get hot. Rated 5 out of 5 by You can't go wrong.... I've been using these irons for 40 plus years. Have had the same one for the last 30 and other than changing a tip now and then, it works every time. October 29, 2013
