Answer:
Look for the small silver button in the middle post. When these are new that button is difficult to press all the way in, it really does take some force. Once it clicks you will be able to fold the sides in towards the center and collapse the scaffold in on itself. It won't be flat but its close and it stores away nicely.

We remodeled our entire first floor living area, and used this scaffold to do all of the roller/brush painting. It also came in handy for other installations that would have been more difficult doing on a ladder. This a quality piece of equipment, and now that the remodel is over, we use it to clean windows, and organizing in the garage. The cross pieces for standing are adjustable, and easy to do. It folds flat, so that it can be hung on the wall for storage in the garage. Great bang for the buck. Wish we would have had this many years ago, when we first moved in to the money pit!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small scaffolding This scaffolding is actually heavier duty than what I had before that I was attempting to buy similar. It's great and I like the blue better than the red anyway lol. It also has higher reveal for traction on the steps which I will have to see about bathe sanded strips...can't sit a drink on these TOO bumpy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 4 ft portable scaffold I am painting the interior of my house to sell. i bought the four ft scaffold to make the painting easier. It did the job. i enjoyed not having to move a ladder after 3 ft of painting trim and cutting in. the portability was great and the wheels worked well riding over tarps even when they were not completely flat. Two things I believe would improve the product. Some sort of step to get to the 2nd level. When the platform is on the 2nd level, it tireing to have to step up so far every time you move the scaffold. The second item is the shelf is a little narrow. It will barely hold a paint trey. Other than these two items, the scaffold was very useful
