This Werner attic stairs was ordered inline for home delivery. Product arrived as promised in very good condition. Installation is not difficult for the experienced worker; two person job.

It went in very easy. Some of the wood is splintered.

                  Poor build quality
You would think with a good name like Werner, they would make generally make some decent ladders. Not this model! after unboxing, I found the frame was broken at a knot in the wood, bode on one side, stairs are glued in with 1 staple, nails were installed minimally. Took it back to HD and bought one with an aluminum frame made by the competition for a few dollars more. Home Depot, stop selling this, it’s junk and dangerous!!

                    Has some quality issues
The ladder was easy to install and works well, however has several bad glue joints on the ladder that I will have to repair. This is my second one already and job was delayed because UPS damaged the first one and it had to be sent back.

Opt for the ladder that’s $30+ more
The frame is stapled together. I found this out when I went to move the ladder and staples just slid out without effort, a nail on the end split the wood (during manufacture) and it came out too. I put 7 wood screws in to fix this vs returning the ladder because I’m handy. This unit does not come with any lag bolts or screws for install and there’s no foam seal or weatherstripping once the door is closed but it does close flat against the frame. Cheapest value, overpriced attic ladder.

Not the best, but what other options is there
This attic door isn’t the best and no way close to my custom attic door. My door was broke so I needed a replacement immediately due to the hot TX heat. Therefore I was stuck w/this one as the expensive options sold only online there wasn’t a whole lot of choices especially 54+ L. This attic door is so difficult to open as a woman, I can’t barely pull it down on my own. The lever to pull it down feels like it will snap the cheap plywood door, so please be careful.

This ladder is the complete package.
This was so easy to install, and it comes complete with everything you need to do the installation, except the hole in the ceiling. It can be installed by one person, but I'd recommend that two people do it, only because lifting the unit in unit into the attic is very heavy. Read the instructions first. it makes installation much easier. One suggestion, install the pull-down string and handle before installing the ladder.

I replied once already. One ladder joint was metal to metal which leaves it wobbling. I had to fix it myself since it was already hung. Took extra time. Costs me money because of it. I have pictures if you want. Please reply.
