Will this keep ice frozen?

I am looking to order this for a off-site event. I am wanting to keep trayed iced frozen for service and think this may be my fix but want to make sure it freezes and stays frozen

Yeah it should have no problem with that. It can go well below freezing and hold that temperature.

Does this unit have a low voltage cut off so it doesn't drain the truck battery?

Asked by: Michael
The freezer has a power saver which it will operate until the voltage is 10.4VDC or less, and then turn off. It will resume operation at 11.8VDC or above. 45 qt. Portable Fridge/Freezer is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from 45 quart fridge/freezer I drive a semi around the country and it works great for freezing food. I haven't used the fridge. Alittle bigger then I thought. But defiantly would recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cools down quickly, with little noise. Draws 4.0 amps DC. I will use the frig in DC mode, where a quiet little fan comes on, but only when the compressor is running. It's quieter than my laptop. The frig uses 4.0 amps (at 13 volts DC), which is similar to my laptop. On 85-90 F summer afternoons, the compressor is running about 1/4th of the time. When it shuts off, the current draw drops to zero. You'll have no trouble sleeping next to it, because it's so quiet. On its inaugural cool-down, it got down to the 30s F in one hour! I was impressed. If I shut the frig down overnight, it only warms up to 49 F inside, compared to a 60 F ambient. So the insulation is excellent. I will use this full time in a travel trailer. I can't suggest any needed improvements. I just hope it runs for years and years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Whynter Portable Freezer 45Qt This portable freezer sold by Whynter Co. was used with no problems the first year while under warranty, however shortly after the warranty expired it failed to get cold . After explaining the problem with Whynter Co. they extended my warranty and found that the 45Qt freezer I had purchased couldn't be repaired, so they provided a brand new unit with another full year warranty. This Company stands by their products and are exceptional when it comes to customer service. I would recommend this product or any other Whynter product. Thanks

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, efficient fridge The fridge seems to be built very solidly and it cools off very well. I haven't tried the fast freeze mode, but the regular mode takes quite a while to reach temperature. Once it is there it seems to hold pretty well. According to the display it sits in a fairly wide temperature range and it may take a little dialing in to get it to where you want it to be. The compressor is pretty quiet, similar to any standard mini-fridge. It has been running well on A/C for a couple weeks with no hiccups so far. I haven't tried running on 12V yet, but that is the eventual use case for us. All-in-all it seems to be a very good value if it holds up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is Better than Expected I purchased the 65 Qt. several years ago for my boat and obviously am quite satisfied. I purchased the 45 Qt. for the smaller size, compactness and lighter weight when full. I use it to keep food and beverages at 40 deg. F while driving to my off-grid cabin in Northern Wisconsin (6.5 Hr. trip). On my first trip I was wondering how it would drain the 7, 100 amp batteries I use for electricity at the cabin. I didn't see the sun for three days because it rained and the solar panels were not working in the rain. With the quiet of the north woods I was able to hear the fridge start about every 45 minutes (When the Temp rose to 43 deg. F), cool down to 38 deg. in 10 mins. and shut down. I was more than pleased with its operation. These Whynter products with true compressor cooling systems are well worth the investment over coolers with ice or those cheaper 12 vdc that cool relative to ambient heat. I then invested in the covers for the two refrigerators (these are not sold by Home Depot). The refrigerators come with two cables, a 12vdc and a 120vac. There are separate plugs on the unit to use depending on your power source. The memory chips retain what your temp. settings were when you turn the units off. These Whynter products are fantastic!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great: Well insulated, pulls about 4.5A (in 12V) and runs 50% of the time for 45 Deg (by room temp) The fridge is sturdy and does what you have payed for. Weak point: The handles are plastic and you need to watch out or they break. The trays are nice. Fridge memorizes temp. setting when disconnected and returns back to it when plugged in.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Better than expected I bought this hoping it would work as well as the similar models from other companies that cost twice as much and I wasn't disappointed. It has great features, is quiet, and doesn't use much energy.
