Smart Home HUB is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 138.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart product When I receive this product I really didn't know a lot about it more I work with it more I learn. I head earlier installed Z-wave switch and now it have full functionality. This product work like alexa only difference it does not have voice recognition. The wink will work with many different WiFi ready product I will try to name some: you can add another hub to this hub, Kidde smoke alarm, nest protect, amazon eco, Blinds such as Bali, Pella, Z Wave blind, Ring door bell, ceiling fans, garage door, home thermostat 8 different ones, Light switches a lot of them, plug in switches a lot of them to, windows sensors like one for home alarms, motion detectors, cameras like arlo, dropcam, nest and ring cam. why do I like this product? It is simple to instal, user friendly and it guide you through the setup, once you set it up it will do the things that you had to do it before. For example before I only could rely on motion detector to turn my outside light when someone is approaching the house or turn them ON and remember to turn them off. Now i have set it up in wink to work with my ring bell together if ring detect the motion turn the outside light on top of that I set the timer for my outside lights to star at sundown and off at 10PM and following morning light on at 4:30 AM and off on sun up, SAVE SOME POWER. All of this you can set it up in this HOME HUB because it have robat, before that some time I will forget to turn off outside light. you have someone coming to service your furnace no problem if you trust them open garage from your work, or unlock the front door for them. The possibilities are endless. Best of all you can use it as a home alarm system without paying monthly fees.

For instance... you can't tell Wink when NOT to do something. Example, when I unlock/open the front door, turn the front room lights on at 20% <UNLESS THEY ALREADY ON>. What I want is for the lights to come on when we get home in the evening, but because you cannot set exceptions to the rule, someone could already be home with the lights fully on. Then someone else get's home and the lights dim. This basic functionality and others are missing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile Automation Hub For Home Or Small Business So I want to be up front with you all before going into the review of this Wink Hub. I already have a security system controller that has automation built-in for use with Zwave devices. It works pretty well being fast to perform reboots, also being pretty quick on its response time when sent commands to change the state of my Zwave controlled devices and not losing connection with said devices. Additionally, I am able to control the automation through a single app on my android phone, wife's iPhone, through the Windows 10 app or via a web site when away from home. That being said, my current automation system does have a limitation in that it can only communicate with the aforementioned Zwave automation devices. For this reason, I felt it would be a good idea to have a backup/replacement automation hub that can communicate with Zwave, ZigBee, Bluetooth, WiFi and Lutron Clear Connect. The Wink Hub was pretty easy to get setup, not really even requiring the use of the Quick Start Guide, but as an IT Technician I always follows the instructions given. The steps were: 1. Download Wink Hub app 2. Plug in Wink Hub to AC adapter supplied in kit 3. Create Wink account in the app and login 4. Tap Add Device to add hub (select "Wink Hub" specifically for this model) 5. Perform required updates (required 3 reboots total to complete all updates) 6. Add automation devices and enjoy!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A great idea - but still needs work Lets face it, in a perfect world, all of our devices would talk to each other and be as smart as WE want them to be. But in the real world, we have a collection of devices that are being ran off of a bunch of different "apps" and we need to go to each singular app to control those devices. Well, the Wink smart Hub tries recognize all of your devices and picks them up to give you control ver ALL of your appliances and gadgets that are being ran on your network inside your home! The only draw back is that it doesn't SEE everything or enable them all to be configured. The pairing of everything is temperamental and spotty. I've updated and reinstalled apps but some just don't want to be seen. The hub is supposed to see everything and control ALL of my devices, but it just doesn't want to. I've worked with it for a few weeks now trying to get it to be smooth and spotless in its execution of working all of my devices, but it just needs some work. It can see my Amazon Echo, and my TP lightbulbs, but it doesn't see my Sengled Speaker lightbulbs or one my other WiFi Auto timer wall plugs. Im not giving up totally, as I believe that its both user error and app error that is causing the issues at hand. I do however just wish that it wasn't as hard to understand or pair up and get it up and running on my iPad. In a perfect world, I'd be able to pick up my iPad, and have one source that can run every item in the house - in one area - and can be controlled from that app on my iPad --- I refuse to give up however! I'm just hoping that with updates in the firmware and bug fixes, I'll eventually have my smart hub controlling EVERY device as it is supposed to! [ The song "High Hopes" comes to mind! :-) ]

I'll start by saying that I'd not recommend this smart hub for a person who wants it to be effective in a situation similar to mine. I am a person looking for a solution to help with lighting control for home security in a 2nd home, where I'm not always there. I received the Wink hub with 2 GE Smart bulbs as a gift, and I believe the package at the time was $99. Setup was rather difficult, as I had to call Wink for support, since the hub would not connect to the bulbs after setup - and they had to push out an update that had only been approved that very day. Once I got the hub set up, and the light bulbs placed, everything worked pretty well - however the Wink interface (Using your iPad to set the times that the lights will go on and off) is not the most user friendly, and requires a fair amount of user input to just get a couple lights to come on and go off, in two different rooms, at two different times. Once set up, everything seemed to work as desired. I even bought a third GE Smart bulb to augment the appearance that someone was home - since I would be away from the house for weeks at a time. I didn't really have a problem until I WAS gone for a couple of weeks, and there was a power glitch at the house, causing everything to go offline (Nest cams, Nest thermostats, and the Wink hub.) When the electricity was restored, about 30 minutes later, everything returned to normal, except the Wink hub. -Which stayed offline for three more weeks, until I returned to the house, and reset it. And there is my problem with the Wink hub. Wink support does not have a solution to power outages, except to reset the hub manually. You have to be there for that. So - as a solution to home security when you are not physically present, Wink recommends the Wink 2 hub, which may be connected to the WiFi router via a LAN connection. When I last contacted Wink to ask if they would provide some consideration for a Wink 2 hub - since I the the Wink.0 doesn't really work as a security solution - they declined to provide a new model, or even offer a discount. Wink support acknowledged that the Wink.0 was not going to work in my situation, and the only alternative they came up with was for me to buy their newer model, and see if that would work. Your mileage may vary, but personally, I'm not going to give more money to a company who doesn't provide better support to their current (actually, now former) customers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wink Wink Well, here it is. First I believe this will become an obsolete product with the launching of the Wink 2 , but lets go on and describe the Wink Hub. This is my second attempt to get this going being last year at this time I was not so successful and returned the product. Not much has changed other than after 3 attempts I was able to get this thing connected to my network and in a usable state. First you need to load the app. Couldn't find it in the IOS App Store Under Wink. Never did. I went to the Wink web site and whentfrom there only to find out I already , or still had the app on my IPad. Ok so with the I pad you have to view it vertical, it won't auto tilt. With the app going and several, attempts things were connected. This is a manual process , new model is auto. First be sure you are connecting to 2.4 GHZ signal as it won't work on 5.0 GHZ. From your router. New model can access both. Also this is wireless no direct connection to your router, yes the new model has Ethernet port connection. With this hub you also must be 15 feet away from your router. In my case I wanted this in my network room ,not going to happen it sits for now in my kitchen more electronics I don't want to look at. Connected up I wanted to get a zwave plug hooked up but out of the box this unit needed a update. No worries I clicked on the button to update, came back thinking I was done except it didn't complete the update after 30 minutes. I did notice that it completed 3 of 7 tasks, just not sure if it lost connection or it was just waiting for me to click next, another ten minutes all kinds of blinking light colors ,I got the ok up to date on my iPad. Looking tru the app , pairing my Leviton plug was painless and took a few minutes, operation seems to work well, app comes up fast and shuts off. Setting up robots , shortcuts seems to be easy to set up , having some issues with pairing 2 NEST thermostats and 5 Nest smoke alarms . Hooking up my Ring doorbells was smooth though, but not able to connect with Kevo door lock , but Kevo is not on the List, not sure if the Wink 2 will be able to handle this. My main reason for wanting a hub is to have switches and plugs that I can set up with Robots short cuts etc. The Nest, Ring , Kevo grage door etc all have there own apps for control. Having one place would be nice but you really need to find out if the product you want to connect to,is just a short cut to there app or actually can work independently. Summing it up , inexpensive, works but with some set up issues and maybe becoming an obsolete product since a new Hub 2 is on the market. Great if your just starting to automate, Relibility is in question plus limited product access. Good customer support .

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not ready Alpha Product This thing is so riddled with bugs it's sad it's even Available to the public! It has connection issues, stability issues, unacceptable delays, I have had to restart it once to get my lights working again and the lights never respond the Same to being linked to this Hub I have had some say failed that were successful and successful that failed! It may have a place in our homes but not until it's ready! I purchased this version 1 of the hub because it still works localy if the internet goes down, version 2 requires the net to work at all, maybe it's big brother has the bugs worked out? But if I can't control my lights if the net goes down I don't want to it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wink Hub Review + Customer Support Praise I have 2 Wink hubs both purchased in the USA. One is installed in Florida and the other in Ireland. The one in Ireland controls Zigbee devices flawlessly but, since Zwave operates on a different frequency in Europe, it won't support Zwave in Ireland. So my lights in Ireland are Zigbee devices. I'm able to control both hubs from anywhere in the world with the app. Updates are performed without error and my experience has been 100 % positive. I've needed to contact customer support on 2 or 3 occasions and have been totally impressed each time....they addressed my concerns and solved my problem each time. Their products and support culture are 5 STARS in my book! Thanks
