I am using these to filter stuff in boiling water at 212 degrees F. Will any of the bag ingredients melt or come off into solution at that temperature?

Rated 1.3 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by waste of money It is made of cardstock weight paper, and as soon as the paint soaks in it will fail and fall apart. Even before that, the strainer wants to fold closed so you have to keep one hand on it to hold it open in the neck of the receiving container. Straining a few cups of thin paint, varnish, or stain at one time, it works as a cheap solution. Barely. If your paint is thick at all, it will take long enough to strain through this ultra fine mesh that the paper may fail before you are done. Better to invest in a plastic mesh reusable strainer . Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by expensive I've not seen cone filters sold at this price ever. If you pay more than 20 cents a filter, then you've paid too much. February 25, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Strainer falls apart Was straining Behr indoor paint that had stuff in it even though was bought new a week prior. HD sales person recommended these to strain paint which we did. The screen part separated from the cone dumping paint back into container. After 2 failures decided to tape the screen to the cone. Which worked finally. Be prepared for frustration when using... June 10, 2013
