I ordered this product 3 days ago. At time of order, it showed 53 available. I immediately received a message that it was on back order. I have contacted Home Depot twice and received 2 different answers. One was it was available and a 2nd it was in back order. You would think with a product in back order they would make it unavailable to order - Out of Stock. No they keep taking orders and telling customers that they are available. This is lawn mowing season. How long are we going to wait?

The 6 screws mounting the handles to the frame vibrated loose and 2 were lost when mowing. Home Depot doesn’t carry the screws and they weren’t available on Riobi.com either. I finally found them online from a hardware supplier and received them after 4 weeks. I saw another complaint on this; its a design flaw and if it continues to happen, eventually the threads in the plastic frame will completely strip out. I emailed Riobi at reviews@riobi.com including photos, but received no response.

Used to love this mower, didn’t last 2 years.The right side safety device started slipping and it would shut off. Found an online fix. Then height adjustment started to slip out of position and it would go from 3 inch to 1.5 inch and scalp my grass. Called Ryobi. had me take it to my home depot for warranty work. Home depot charged me $30 to deposit (was not refunded). 8 weeks later Ryobi said it is not under warranty and $190 to fix. Stated 2 bolts were missing. Warranty is worthless. DONT BUY

we've had our mower two years and we love it. However there is a problem with the screws that mount the handle to the mower body. You have to tighten them repeatedly as they will vibrate out. i suggest putting lock washers on them. Apparently this is a common problem because even though you can get replacement screws at www.ryobitools.com. They are out of stock and backlogged. it is a specialty screw and hard to find. After two days of searching the web I found the thread type is called a HiLo thread type. Save yourself some headache and put lock washers on them

Stopped working less than a year which could happen to anything but the nightmare is getting service from Ryobi check if you have an authorized service tech near you before you buy

Mower works great when it wants to stay running but has recently started randomly shutting off the blades which makes mowing a 1/4 acre a 2 hour task when it should take me 30mins … customer service wants me to take it an hour away to get it looked at and refuses to give a repair manual. Save a headache and buy a cheaper gas mower

I brought it from Home Depot when I brought they told me they are going to send me batteries spare one and I did register for it and now it’s not working I don’t know they going to do I will understand if I use to much but just I used it 4 times ..

I just purchased this mower. Very quiet. Charge was good for our yard. The battery charged within 3 hours. (i believe we have about 4800 sg ft). It went through the longer grass like a dream. Thinking I should have gotten the larger blade..but its really good. I will update after I've used it a few times.

I've had this mower for a little over a year. It does not see heavy use and I stand it up to store it, as pictured on this product's page. I came to find out today that the cord connecting to the start button had a clean tear in it. No more than one year of NORMAL USE, one of the critical components easily broke. This is SHODDY WORKMANSHIP and I would caution everyone to stay away. $299 should get you something better, and anyone that has ever bought this should be eligible for a full refund.

I already have a lawn mower but, considering the price of gas i decided to buy this one because of the price and voltage. I must say it passed all of my expectations of this mower. I change it to the max and i get to finish all four sides of the house and one dot charge is used mind you it has 5 dots. Recommend it to everyone.

My previous lawn mower was a reel and before that gas. I love this one because it’s light weight, no gas, no oil filters or spark plugs. It charged in under 2 hours and I was able to cut the front, sides and most of the backyard. I do have a huge backyard and good size front.

The metal handles go to a metal frame that bolts, with short 1.25" bolts, into a relatively soft plastic deck. I used this mower maybe 10 times with the handles falling off three times. I tightened the bolts, and tried products to secure them (binders); third time the bolts had just fallen out at some point and I lost all but one of them, but probably wouldn't have mattered as the deck's threads were damaged by the bolts.

This is the worst law mower. I bought this lawn mower two weeks ago and it is the worst thing ever. I have a decent size backyard. With my old gas power lawn mower it took me 20 minutes to cut the grass. With this lawn mower I can't even finish the back yard before moving to the front yard. The battery dies in 12 minutes so, I when and bought a new battery. That didn't even help. It seem like I will have to use my old gas powered lawn mower. I'm very disappointed in this product. I

to give you an idea go look at how much the replacement battery is... $190. my mower didn't even last one season, battery died so I purchased a new one and the more won't even cut for 5 minutes. truly not worth it, go buy a real mower or pick mine up off my curb.

I’ve been looking at this mower for the past couple of months now, and I’ve decided to take the plunge after I tore my labrum in my arm from the gas mower. The price was right, its not strenuous on my body(very light and easy to handle), and it got the job done. Thus far, I’m very satisfied.

After cutting the lawn with the lawnmower it looks very uneven. Battery runs out about 1/2 way through the back yard, our lot is 60 X 100 so not that large. Self drive mechanism is not smooth like our last gas Lawnboy lawnmower. Would not buy this again. Contemplating selling this and going back to gas.

The mower works fine, but the wheels are cheaply made and basically disintegrated after one season. I have a flat yard and the only stress on the wheels would come from simply turning the mower around. Looking around online, of course, Ryobi simply doesnt sell replacement wheels, which seems crazy. If this is "normal" wear and tear, fine, just let me replace the wheels for $10 or $20 like other manufacturers.

We were skeptical of the power and battery, but boy we were wrong. We just finished the entire yard and we had a little under 2 bars of battery left. The power was very surprising as it went through the thick grass with ease. The unit is so light weight it really took the stress out comparing to the traditional gas mower. We really hope the battery holds up in the next few years.

Love this lawnmower. It is easy to assemble and use. It takes no time to charge the batteries. When using the self propelled operation it glides easily across the yard. It is not as loud as gas mowers and I love it. The handle also folds down and stores completely without taking up space. This was a great purchase and I recommend this product. I intend to buy more products from this line.

I've owned this about a year now. After about three months of using it, the handle bars didn't attach well due a substandard base they attach to. The base would bent in and the pins would not enter. The bolts attaching it easily got loose and where hard to reattach due to placement and non standard bits used. See pic. It works well, but the battery doesn't last to do my whole yard and needs a recharging before completing the mowing. In general, I probably would have been better to stick with my old gas mower.

I was in need of a mower. I rent a home with about 1/2 acre lot. It is hilly and some ditches. The grass was fairly high...it mulched and bagged great. I cut almost the yard in one charge. 2 thumbs up.

This machine is great, quite and run smoothly. This lawn mower have a light as well.

Love it. I was able to mow my whole lawn on one full charge of the battery. I definitely recommend self propelled if your older.

Need to improve on the mower blade with not such a thin piece of metal because it gets dull when running over small twigs

The self-propelled engagement handle on this mower makes it hard to control. I've learned to compensate for the flaw, but it's a steep learning curve. I have a suggested REDESIGN (see photos) for Ryobi.

Just finished using my new Ryobi 40V brushless, 20" mower. I have 2.7 acres of deep grass and weeds. The power is excellent and battery outlasted me. Mowed once early in season, then spouse moved away with his girlfriend. Bought electric mower I wanted! Better than I could have expected.

Great Mower easy to use and keeps charge for over an hour

So I have officially owned this for a year, bought at the end of 2020 mowing season. I thought it was the best thing. Stowed upright and clean all winter. after the first couple of mowes this year the locking ping on the hinge malfunctioned, spring popped out and had to macgyver a solution. Temp fix. a couple of weeks ago the unit stopped functioned. There are so many safety switches in here and the one in the arm extension locking location was stuck closed, meaning the arm was not fully extended.I had to open it up to dislodged it from track to function. Now that switch is a hit or miss on breaking the connection sometime making up while I mow. This is the last mow of the season, let's see what breaks in 2022. I'll be reaching out to Ryobi.
