On 4/26/23 I purchased 24 yards (18 ft length) of 12' Elevations carpet at Home Depot store #8440 for DIY installation. On 5/7/24, my husband and I spent several hours clearing furniture from our screened porch, prepping the subfloor, and installing the carpet. As we approached the final section, we realized that we were short more than 1 foot of carpet. We measured and found we'd be given 16 ft 1" carpet, having ordered and paid for 18 ft. By that point, having put hours of labor into laying the carpet, we were not interested in receiving another piece of carpet and starting over. Thankfully there was a cutout from which we could create a piece to fill the gap. I feel I should have been refunded the full cost of the carpet in compensation for employee negligence, but the manager would only discount my purchase by the missing amount of carpet plus $50. She seemed entirely unsympathetic to the frustration that this mistake caused. I left feeling that I'd been thrown a bone and was unappreciated as a customer. Refunding the full price of the carpet would have only cost another $74, so this is not an issue of money. It's an issue of customer service--which otherwise at this store has been good. I've been coming here for years and will probably come back for anything that doesn't need to be carefully measured.

Excellent help by the personnel

On and about 3/18/24 approximately 8:14 p.m I had the worst experience ever in my whole career as a contractor/consultant/ property manager at this Home depot location. Which is convenient for me because this location is the closest to my 9 properties in north Wilmington. CASHIER "JASMINE" was extremely disrespectful to me and my company,on above date and time .not only was she disrespectful;but, had the nerve to ask my employee to take Defective merchandise that I returned that destroyed job site in an unauthorized area where my worker could of got killed and tried to to assault me by throwing receipt at a disabled bilateral vet

I went to get refridgerator and the 2 specialist were just wonderful. I questioned a price in relation to where product was located. They worked together to give me what was listed due to wrong location of item. Thanks Jackie and Nicole.

The best experience I’ve had in a loooong time has been when I went shopping for appliances at the Wilmington, DE Home Depot location and met Jackie Haynes and Frances Turner. What an exceptional team to work with!!! They were on top of everything!! Dotting every i and crossing every single t on my appliance purchase. They made it perfect in every detail and I felt like I was getting great customer service, like the kind everyone wishes they could experience but unfortunately can’t seem to find anywhere! But I know where to find it and it’s with Jackie and Frances!! Brilliant!!

I have been an loyal customer for sometime now and within these past 2yrs since covid came to a calmness store 8440 had definitely improved, great job to the manager but i gotta give to the associates they are improving interaction with customers and knowledge on product is well good as well

Customer service at this location is excellent. There is always someone to help in all departments!!

Recent visit to make copies of keys at self-service key machine proved to be more confusing than originally thought. Cashier Karen helped and got the keys made without an issue. Thanks, Karen!

the store has grown exceedingly within the past year

I was going to different Home Depots near my area to find a specific camera and none had it and had it in stock on the app and when I got there they have non. I tried this location and they had it. The cashiers were very friendly as well.

Mike, Charles and Velez went above and beyond to help us track down a specific vanity we were looking for! There was one on the shelf but it was damaged. They were able to located them on a pallet up top and brought it down for us to purchase one. They were EXTREMELY friendly and helpful! What an amazing crew! Highly recommend shopping at this store because of them!!! Employees of the month 👏🏼

Customer service is awesome

This Home Depot has the best deals in their Garden Center. I got a great price on mums to plant in my front yard. Tony was awesome! He loaded up my cart with mulch I was buying and brought it to my car to put in my trunk. The employees here go above and beyond.

Tony, currently in the garden area is a gray asset to your store. He knows where EVERYTHING! Is located and just as importantly, he knows what to recommend for many uses.

Chrissy was awesome! She went beyond my expectations in helping me. I will always look for her.

It seems as though because of the location no one cares. No one corrects unprofessional employees, it's hard to locate someone for assistance, it's like your on your own when shopping. It's a place of business but yet no leadership is in place to make aure it's run professionally

I live pretty close to several hardware store but I go to the Wilmington, De store because I the employees are knowledgable and friendly.

Let's just say this was the WORST experience I have ever had at a Home Depot.

Went in to have paint mixed and was told by the employee behind the counter that this was not her area, and another girl would be back soon. Waited 23 minutes, while this same employee helped the 2 men behind me with their paint, and wouldn't look at and never called for assistance. I should have just driven to Christiana.

Home Depot store #8440 Wilmington has been our go-to store for many, many years. We like the products we purchase at this store and most importantly the employees are always helpful and friendly. Three that stand out right now are Karen and Evonda in the Garden Center and Josie in the Paint Dept. There are other employees, but unfortunately I have never gotten their names. The kind and friendly employees make our shopping experience so much better!!! Thank you!

I needed help with flooring and Jackie was there to help with a smile and very knowledgeable.

Josie in the paint department was a joy to work with. She was very pleasant and so knowledgeable. Matched my paint samples perfectly even though they were not "Behr" Paint! She pleasntly also assisted a number of other customers.

I was shopping for tomato plants and the lady was very helpful and courteous. Paige was great, she scanned my items for me even though I was at self check out. Great customer service and very pleasant.
