    portland cement
I recently retiled my entrance foyer outside, I needed to use cement to fasten the tiles and the portland cement i selected was perfect and i haven't regretted it since. It was perfect and I get nothing but "good job" from friends.

    Used to make concret
I used this product & a 1/3 yard power mixer to mix concrete for a garage floor. I used the 1-2-3 ratio but it was to much gravel for what I was after (also depends on your gravel size I used small P gravel) I changed to a 1-2-2 mix (1-part Cement 2 -parts play Sand 2-parts P-Gravel by volume) and it was very easy to work and trowel to get a good finish my forms were 3'x6' 4" deep. For a DIY person the MAIN & MOST important thing to watch is the amount of water. A VERY small amount will give a ... read more good mix (it will look dry and crumbly) but once worked it turns out perfect. I used this over 5 years ago and it still looks new-No cracks, No shrinking, Great Product!!!

Innovative, easy to store sand bag kit.
These are awesome! They're very light when dry and they come in a great carrying bag (5 per bag). I activated mine by placing them where the water would be. They soaked up the water and they have held the water for over a week! We're in the middle of an El Nino winter, which for us means it's a wet one. We have a hill in our back yard and with some rain, the water comes pouring down. I'm going to use these to build a barrier to help control the water flow on the hill and down at the bottom. ... read more When the bags are activated, they are heavy, just like sand bags. I can place them (empty) where I need them, then when they fill up, they'll be like a sand bag. I also noticed that they can be used to soak up water from a plumbing leak, to control water in a basement and to keep water from ruining a floor. We've very happy with these bags and they're a great alternative to filling and carrying sand bags! I recommend you try them.

Good for compact storage for "just in case"
While I don't live in a place subject to major flooding (there are no major creeks, rivers, dams, etc. above me), my house is located on a hill below street level. My neighbor had leaves divert water and debris from the street down his driveway and into his garage during a heavy downpour a few years ago. Further, if you've ever seen a water main break, you know how those are capable of causing significant flooding on city streets. So the though has crossed my mind that I really should be ... read more prepared to put out sand bags on short notice should something like this happen to my driveway. However, actually storing sand and sandbags for something that could happen years in the future is not easy. Thus I was glad when I came across this product. This allows me to store enough bags to barricade both my garage doors and the front door to my house to keep several inches of water out on short notice, and I can store all of that (30 bags in my case) in a stack about 2' high. I do wish that these bags cost less, but compared to the cost of flood damage these are cheap (especially since most homeowners insurance doesn't cover flood damage). One downside to these bags is that I'm not clear on what to do with them once they've been used. The instructions that come with the bags are quite limited. The company's website has more information and an FAQ, but still nothing related to the draining and disposal of these bags after use. I tried calling their customer support: after waiting for a few minutes, I was required to leave a voice message (there wasn't an option to stay on hold), and they never got back to me, so their customer support didn't win any points with me.

Fantastic idea, a great emergency item for an El Nino winter
We live up in the hills here in Southern California and 'winter' normally starts with a visit to the local fire station to fill sandbags so we can prep for the early winter rains that normally erode the dirt on our hillside property. We decided to try these Flood Sax out so we have an 'emergency' supply of ready to use sand bags just in case the heavier rains of an El Nino winter start to cause additional problems. Compared to a typical 30-50lb sandbag, these are super easy to use and ... read more super easy to store. They are supplied in a vacuum packed bag within a custom plastic carrier bag. This means they can sit on the shelf in the garage or shed ready to use when needed. The principal is pretty simple and similar to a child's diaper. When the material inside the bags becomes wet, they 'inflate' creating a decent sized barrier for water and other debris. In the picture below, you can see how the packet of 20 Flood Sax compares to a truck bed full of 24 regular sandbags. There's no comparison really, they're easier to store, easier to move and a must have if you live in a flood prone area or are preparing for severe weather/rain. Compared to free sandbags and free dirt from the local fire station, they're obviously more costly however I'm happy to swap a morning with a shovel and cable ties filling and lifting conventional sandbags in and out of our truck for these!

    Sakrete works fine.
I have never been disappointed with concrete from Sakrete. There is good "working time" between mixing and pouring into place yet still retains great strength. I have formed slabs 5' x 5' x 18" deep (without any rebar) and still no cracks - after 2 years. I will continue to use this product as long as it is available.

    Excellent product at affortable price
Excellent product at great price. I used this product to do a footing/base for a shed and it worked wonderfully very easy to use. I used a gallon of milk full of water to one bag of 80lbs. PERFECT MIX! i worked it smooth and got good result. So i decided to use it to concrete my patio. work it smooth, some color hardener and stamped. professional results!

    Good rapid set
I realized this cement was probably a little more "advanced" than what I needed, but it still did a great job for my project. I was using terra cotta pots as anchors for posts to hold string lights on my screened porch. When I started reading the instructions on the bag, I realized that this product could be used for many more projects, like cement repair. Nonetheless, I found that this product was great for my little project. I mixed my cement in 3 small batches in a 5 gallon bucket using a ... read more mixing attachment on my drill. It took about the amount of effort you would think and I am very pleased with the results.

Excellent, takes some getting used to.
Highly recommend using the admixtures made for rapidset products which extend working time and increase flowability. Sets very fast at warmer temperarures like one would experience in Kingman AZ. I mix 1 qt. water to 1 gallon dry mix. For resurfacing concrete before flooring I slowly add flow control admix to warm water, stirring constantly to avoid clumping, use 1/3 to 1/2 pkg flow control per qt of water. Allow water to cool before mixing if possible, then mix cement-all with treated water. ... read more This mix flows like melted butter, sets like iron and bonds well to clean pre-moistened surface. Adjust mix for thick patches since using this thin of a mix can cause shrinkage. Try a few small batches until you get used to the product. Hope this helps.

    Fast drying
This product dries very fast so you need to working quickly. Top coating my patio with it. Mix very well so no clumps. I used a rubber floor squeegee to spread it quickly. Need to pressure wash whatever you mix it in immediately or it will harden in tub or mixer as quickly as it sets on concrete and you will have to chisel and chip it out. Very pleased with the product. Cold water or ice water will help slow down setting a little longer.

    Simple & Easy
I needed to do a job around my home. I was intimidated with hauling and mixing 80lb bags. I also would have to purchase additional tools if I went that route. So I started my research, as I do with things I'm not familiar with. I found 1-2-3 Mortar. What a time and money saver. It was so simple and easy to use. Even my wife enjoyed helping with our project. I usually don't write reviews, I felt this deserved one. Thank you 1-2-3 Mortar and The Home Depot. You made my life easier, looking ... read more forward to our next project.

    Did the job well.
It did what I wanted, but the bag was hard to mix and apply with. So I emptied into a bucket and it was great. No real issues, but maybe with practice the bag would have worked. First time use.

    Nice product
The 11.3 type M commercial grade mason mix was perfect for a novice like myself. The instructions are straight forward and easy to understand. The mortar is premeasured for 500 ml of water give or take. You add the water to the bag through an opening in the top of the bag. Mix the mortar and water thoroughly and use the opening in the bag as your applicator. A great concept for a novice like me!

    Great Product
Just purchased 50 bags for a project with delivery by HD. Cement arrived well packaged on pallet and in good condition. Product is easy to mix and to work. I've used it before with great results. This project was no different.

    Easy and strong.
I used 3 bags to fill a hole in my crawl space foundation. Worked well and sealed up the hole. Just add water and mix together. I recommend getting a power drill with an attachment if you can, or mixing in a wheel barrel with a shovel. Mixing by hand in a bucket was hard work! Also, you'll need to wear a dust mask and goggles when mixing.

    add 5 quarts of water
works as expected. use 80lbs to secure 2 fence posts. 40lbs each. mixes well in a wheel barrel with just 5 quarts of water per 80lb bag. i premixed for my fence posts then dropped in hole. some people dump it in the hole dry then add water but the water only soaks the outside and leaves powder cement around the inside of the post. don't be lazy. premix it before dropping in hole.

Great basic concrete in a managable package
I've been using bags of these to set Postmaster metal posts in the ground. A 60 lbs. bag is plenty heavy if you're working on your own. It's easy to mix in a wheel barrow and easy to get the right consistency. There's no need for fast setting mixes with this stuff. Sure it takes a full 5 days to fully cure in the ground, but it is functionally cured in 24 hours or less. After setting a posts in the late afternoon, I have been able to remove bracing without worry early the next morning. It's a ... read more good value for the DIYer with a small project.
