    Happy I chose it. Fantastic
Was not difficult to put together. I was surprised how well it went together. I found the small problem was the wrench that came with the kit, just a little difficult to use.

    Overpaid but nice
Great looking fireplace....really provides a nice atmosphere on our new patio. But, grossly overpaid for this!! Very similar one / almost exact same one sold at Lowe's for $329!! Also, no cover included.........I see it rusting out sooner than later :(

    DESERT COMPACT OUTDOOR FIREPLACE
Took longer to build than expected, but the majority of the project can be built by one person.

    Great product!
Easy. Very clear directions. This kit came with everything you need! The only thing additional you may need is material for the base depending on what your starting surface is. I would highly recommend to anyone. We started the project on a Friday evening and had our fire going Saturday night!

Looks great and easy to build
It's important that you have the right base to start with, because it is very heavy. If you have the unit delivered to the store you will need a heavy duty truck or trailer to pick it up. Suggestion: use a large Square to keep your stones straight, wait for the Glue to set before moving on.

    Best value
After comparing numerous other opetions including pricey custom builds this unit met our needs. Solidly built and easy to assemble. Only issue was low to ground and I built up with bricks.

    Great Customer Service!
We are very happy with our purchase of this product!

    Great!
We looked at many options for an outdoor fireplace, and this one is great. We were putting in a new patio and had a base built for it. It is nice to have it raised a bit. It is small, but we have found that a small fire starter and pinion wood mini-logs work great, even on a windy night. Delivery was cost-efficient and fast and the driver even pulled it up our steep driveway to our garage.

A Little Pricey but Definitely Worth It
This chimenea is just what I have been looking for. It is sturdy, well-made and attractive. I was leary about spending alot of money on a chimenea, but chose to give this one a try because it was made out of cast-iron with a powder coat overlay instead of clay. The construction is very solid, sturdy, and durable, and will probably outlast me. Was definitely worth the extra money as compared to the cost of similar clay models. HOWEVER, I do feel that for the price, it could have come with a ... read more cover. The detail of the hummingbirds and morning glories are perfect and the color is also neutral enough that it can nicely enhance any decor.

Great patio addition - looks like it will last a lifetime
This is an update to my previous review. Had the chiminea for over a year now and it still rates an 'excellent'. We did want to note that these chimineas will eventually rust if not protected. We have a friend who has one that's15 years old and still functional but completely rusted over (he leaves it unprotected outside year round). We found the beginnings of rust on ours after having left it covered outside in the Minnesota winter. The 'instructions' suggest painting it with an epoxy to ... read more protect it although they are not very specific about this. We purchased and used Rustoleum Automotive High Heat clear paint (2000 degree formulation) # 260771 and coated ours at the beginning of this season - absolutely no rust apparent. Two 11 ounce cans were more than enough to coat. The paint is 'flat' and so maintains the original finish of the chiminea. We will keep an eye on ours and re-coat as necessary. Hope this helps.

Very pretty and easy to assemble...I feel safe with the quality of the cast iron.
The only small addition I would add is an open, adjustable grating under the belly for a better upward draft. The image of the hummingbird is very pretty. The delivery was promised on a certain date but came two days earlier. I'd just gotten home and was lucky.

    Chimney
I bought this chiminea for my fiancé for Christmas and he loves it! We have only had fires a few nights because it's been too cold but it has been great the few nights we did. I took one star away because it was a pain to put together and one hole wasn't drilled enough to put a screw in all the way. Other than that it's amazing!

    My husband loves it!
It works well, and my husband loves it. It fits well on our porch and allows us to enjoy the outdoors more often. I don't have any complaints. We really love how it looks and that the family could sit all the way around it and enjoy the fire if wanted to. I guess it might be nice if there was an easy way to clean the ash out of the bottom like a trap door.

    Dragonfly Chiminea
While a very heavy product, it was simple to assemble. It looks great on our patio. Most of all, the price at Home Depot was the absolute best price on the web. With free delivery to the store, it couldn't be beat,

    Very Inviting
Okay the low down.... it's heavy, very heavy, but as heavy as it is it is good quality and very attractive. First fire just shimmering heat coming out of the stack. but the coating off gases and smells like burning plastic but this should be expected, so fire it up a few times before sitting around it with family and friends. Would I buy it again..... definitely. Fast shipping to my local Home Depot, but if you don't want to wrestle with this thing 9it is cast iron) have it shipped to your ... read more house, if I do it again I will, but I am sure no one is going to run off with this thing.

    Love this fireplace!
This is a great option if you have a small space. Looks really nice and works really well with our outdoor patio furniture. If you are planning to use the fireplace on a regular basis then I would definitely recommend it over some of the less expensive models. The only delta is that you need at least two guys to put it together.

    great fireplace
Good product and easy to assemble. This is my second one. It will rust out from the rain in about 4 years. This new one, I had a custom cover made.

Beautiful small fireplace for outdoor kitchen and patio. Coordinates with module that has a granite countertop and storage/trash space below.

    Thrilled with the fireplace
My spouse and I took this on as a summer project. Definitely not professionals in any way shape or form. We are empty nesters who enjoy a DIY project. We have had very limited experience with masonry of any kind. Started with an abandoned dog kennel that was 20+ years old and added the fireplace to complete the outdoor area. It took 46 hours and we took others recommendation and poured a concrete pad to start the project. Several things we learned: very good pair of glove, good chisel, it took ... read more us 160#'s of mortar and 10#'s of sand. The Quikrete Adhesive is hydrophobic and difficult if it is old. We took some tubes back and exchanged for newer tubes and there was quite a difference with the ease of application. Keep the blocks and the fireplace dry under construction (the adhesive just balls up if it is wet). When assembling the stacks of 4 bricks - preassemble/glue them. Had no problem cutting the bricks - just drilled them first and then cleaved them with a chisel. We added a fireplace cap by mortaring it to the top blocks. Really pleased.

    Great product for the money.
This fireplace was the best one I came across for the money. It was delivered on 6 pallets and was pretty easy to build. I would suggest saving the pallets to burn afterwards. I do not have any masonry skills, just a little common sense. And that is pretty much all you need for this project besides some basic tools and a little time. You do have to pay attention to certain aspects as you go along because the instructions are vague and just pictures for stone placement. I had to download them ... read more from the distributors website and they do not give you any pointers or suggestions. For example, as you set up for the fire box, it is a good idea to take a measurement of the width before you plan on setting it in place, this way you will not need to cut or grind any stone. Another thing that will help, is to have a bucket of mortar by your side. Even though you are using adhesive to set the stone in place, you will come across stones that vary in thickness. You can use a little mortar for build up to help keep everything level. After setting the foundation, it took myself and son-in-law about twelve hours to complete the whole thing. Not bad for a couple of DIYer's Overall, this fireplace was a great buy for the money and I would definitely recommend this to a friend.

fireplace insert fit was great but don't glue mini blocks until it is in place
