Answer:
This and similar "All Service Jacket" insulation, can usually go to 500+ degrees and down to 32 deg f with no problem, as long as the whole insulation system is installed correctly, including special ASJ tape, and fitting covers, as well as metal lagging if it's used outside..

In the product video on homedepot.com, it says to use this fiberglass pipe insulation on boiler and steam pipes only, that it recommends the polyethylene insulation for everything else. Is there a SPECIFIC reason WHY I could not use this fiberglass insulation on everything?
I would like to wrap ALL of my boiler supply and return lines (1 1/2"), and ALL of my indirect water heater supply and return lines (1") and ALL of the domestic hot water piping throughout my entire home.
If it is ok, I'd like to wrap all the cold water lines in my home as well to eliminate the condensation from forming on the cold pipes. Or by wrapping my cold pipes would that cause the insulation to grow mold if condensation ever snuck through a tiny seam at, say a break in the insulation for a pipe fitting?

Answer:
It is quite alright to use the fiberglass pipe insulation on all your steam pipes. However, I would use the poly foam on all other cold water supply lines, just in case there would be a small leak that could allow for mold growth if using the fiberglass.
