Product Overview

These hex bolts have hexagonal heads and are for general purpose applications with a socket type installation tool or standard wrench. The standard bolt is compatible with standard nuts and washers of the same thread pitch, grade and finish. Grade 8 bolts have a higher strength and are to be used with Grade 8 nuts. An alternative for using hex bolts without nuts is to place them directly into a compatible female threaded receptacle. They require a pre drilled hole or pre-tapped hole with compatible female thread. Available in various materials, grades and finishes.

Customer Reviews

1/4 in. -20 tpi x 3/4 in. Zinc-Plated Hex Bolt (100-Piece per Box) is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Hex Bolts Worst Ever - Soft as Butter w/ 3- Letter Head Stamp The hex nuts from the open bins with the 3-letter head stamps break when tightening. They are very soft metal. I bought a hand full from the open bins (1/4 x20 mostly - headstamp ACC and ADC) and the first 3 snapped - lots of trouble to remove. I am not overtightening ! It's not like they are not charging enough at $.11 and $.12 each ! The hex heads round easily too. I have never experienced such an inferior fastener. I'm building lawn furniture - nothing stressful. They have a new system where they use the 3-letters at the cash register to price them individually (one at a time only - takes a long time) . Stay away from this cheap product. If they don't have a known headstamp or source - keep shopping. I don't know where they come from but I'll bet it isn't anywhere good. You can do better than this Home Depot. Come on!
