We were losing so much heat in our basement because our pipes were not insulated. The basement was warmer than the house. We used these insulators and now all of that heat is upstairs heating our home. Saved us a lot of money.

2-1/2 in. x 3 ft. Fiberglass Pipe Insulation is rated 2.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter isn't here yet, but I like this product We used these to insulate our radiator pipes in the basement. They were easy to put on. We used the self-adhesive that's part of the product, but then we also used HVAC foil tape for added security. So far, so good. Winter's not here yet, so I can't comment on their insulation value, but I'm expecting good things.

Some of the adhesive didn't stay closed on a few pieces, I had to fasten them using other materials. Overall this product was easy to install and also easy to work with. If all the adhesive worked I would rate it higher.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Seal does not hold I purchased about 45 pieces of this product in varying sizes. I used it around iron heat pipes in my basement. At first I was very happy with product . I installed all the pieces in about 1.5 hours. The next day I returned to the basement and 90 percent of the pieces popped open. Attempted to reseal three times with similar results. Manufacture offered metal tape and/or replace items. I believe this is unsatisfactory because it does not take into account the time/labor/high product cost in having to redo job several times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very good Thin and flimsy, paper cover very loose and tape strip thin. Not rigid enough. I got better stuff at a plumbing supply shop and it was cheaper cost. It also came with the end strips for butt joints. Would not purchase again....

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adhesive doesn't hold I had the same problem with the adhesive as mentioned by other reviewers. I installed a few pieces to test it, and less than an hour later they had all come loose. If you are going to install this product, get some foil tape and seal the tubes yourself -- it will save you time and frustration later. Still, even with the taping, it is much easier to install than the rolls of wrap-style insulation. Another problem I had was that the openings of the tubes were larger than marked on the outside. The insulation made for 2 1/2" pipes had an opening that was actually 2 3/4" to 3" in diameter. In order to get them to fit snugly on the pipe, I had to trim them down. You may want to measure these in the store before you buy them and consider getting the next size smaller that whatever the label says.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible sealing The self sealing tape does not work. We had to purchase additional tape to seal this properly. This is terrible insulation
