Customer Questions & Answers

Where is the 3 in. round ceiling box used instead of the 4 in. round ceiling box?

I believe most light fixtures are designed for the 4 in. box. Is there information available that demonstrates mounting a standard light fixture on the 3 in. box?
Asked by: AMADBall
Selection of a box would be dependent of the desired function, the number of conductors and what devices of any. Smaller boxes use usually just junction boxes while larger boxes are used for devices or as support.
