Answer:
Yes, if you want them to operate separately. However one switch will work to turn them on together.

Answer:
Thank you for the installation question. It can be wired two ways: on a single switch so both fan and light operate at the same time, or on two individual switches so each function can operate on its own.

Answer:
It does not replace the 763RL. The 769RFT is similar in design and size. The 763RLN is still available. You can purchase it at the Special Order Desk of your local Home Depot store.

Rated 3.1 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value Good product, good price, relatively easy to install. Lightbulb should be included. Had to Make 2nd trip to HD for light bulb. July 31, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by ceiling fan the light/fan was easy to install and runs very quiet December 8, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fan I like the way it looks and is quite. The only thing Idid not like is that it comes without the bulb and havinga hard time finding one at the store. July 26, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Exhaust fan combo Quiet running, convenient light built in. Easy to install. June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Much louder than I hoped Fan and light work fine. We had a handyman install since the connection was above the ceiling. Our only complaint is that it is much louder than we hoped it would be. June 21, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good but not a bright light Installation was straightforward and the light came packaged with detailed instructions. Does suggest mounting to a joist, which limits use in remodels. That was a little tricky for me since I was remodeling a basement bathroom and trying not to punch too many holes in the wall or ceiling. The light bulb is a special order and a bit on the pricey side. We ordered it in and installed it and it doesn't give out a whole lot of light, so other lighting in the area is a definite must. It has two options for wiring, either continuous fan or separate fan switch. Fan works great and really moves air pretty well. Not super noisy, but still lets you know it is on. April 9, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Good fan but louder than expected Fan works well and installed easily but is louder than expected. It also has a rhythmic hum that sounds like a the fan might be 'off' a little. Not the best fan in the world but it is a good value. June 30, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Light died after only a couple months We've had this unit only a couple months. We had lost the original paperwork/instructions that came with the unit, so to find the model number I had to look through Home Depot's selection. This is the only NuTone unit (that looks like the one we have) that is sold in the store near us, so by a process of elimination I determined this must be the one we have. However, online it says this unit doesn't come with a bulb, and our's did (a specialty CFL bulb). Now to the review: The fan itself is strong but a bit noisy. It seems to clear the air much faster than our older unit. Problem is, the light gave out recently and to get it to go back on we have to take the cover off and press on the bulb. That buys you about 15 minutes of light before it dies again. We're going to see if we can replace the bulb, but so far we can't figure out how to get the bulb out of the receptacle. There are no instructions on line on how to do this, so we may be out of luck even trying a new bulb if we can't figure out how to get the dang thing out! You would think it would be a simple plug in bulb, but you can't get it out by pulling on it. I'm pretty sure its not the bulb, anyway, otherwise it would be out all the time and pressing on it wouldn't help. Its a headache to deal with, as it wasn't a simple installation. Big mistake buying this unit! I gave it 2 stars only because the fan is stronger than the one we replaced. June 6, 2015
