what is the different between maf1 and maf2 filters

what is the different between maf1 and maf2 filters
Asked by: Wes
There is one basic difference. The MAF1 filter is approximately 32.75 inches wide. The MAF2 Filter is approximately 26 inches wide. Which to pick? With the filters being about 7 inches different in length it is easy for you to use a tape measure to verify which filter your humidifier requires.

This fall when I discovered my local The Home Depot had wicks that fit my humidifier and were several dollars cheaper then the other store, I got one to try out. I fits just fine, and does not have that aluminum outer screen layer, and apparently does not need it for support. In the past I was always bothered that I was putting a "spent" filter with a aluminum screen attached into the landfill. The Home Depot replacement is a nice GREEN product.

It has helped a lot since we started using it. Only downside is on really cold days you have to refill the unit 5 or 6 times but that is no big deal because you just have to stay on top of it.
