we had a small fire in kitchen. sponges are hard to use and a few swipes and it has to be thrown away. tried TSP...worked very well. Maybe better suited for a small job as if I had to use just the sponges...it would be very expensive.

This worked pretty well. I'll probably still have to paint, but it did a good job. I found that once a sponge is used on smooth wood or glass, it shouldn't be used on a painted wall.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fred picks up soot and dirt on all surfaces
Price was excellent, product holds up very well even on
rough cement surfaces. Picks up dust and soot. I found
it was necessary to press hard on rough surfaces, and
wipe in both directions.

Great product for removing soot on bricks around fireplace, slightly less effective on wooden mantel.

These are the real thing. They worked great for soot clean up after a fire in our house. They were recommended by a local restoration company. I would definitely recommend these!
