I had such a noisy wind turbine. Drove me up the wall. Here in sunny South Florida we get a lot of wind. I did not want to attempt installing a whole new unit so i put it on the back burner for a while. Just the other day I decided I could not take the noise anymore and I looked for some retrofit wind turbines. This popped up ( genius ) No moving parts means no parts to break. Took about 3-4 day to deliver to my local Home Depot store. Arrived well packed in a sturdy corrugated box. Came with 4 self tapping screws. Took about 10-20 minutes to install. As Im writing this on a super windy day. I have achieved inner peace. My home office is very silent. No clinky clanky clunky noise. You can contact us through our website www.pmcases.com if you would like a followup to see how its holding up.

I was a little perplexed when they arrived but after inspecting the product, discovered it was easy as pie. I painted them brown to match the trim and installed them over the old openings. Plus, I now have reassurances that rain will not enter the attic. Period!

I purchased two of these vents to replace one broken and one bent wind turbine type vent.
The retrofit vent is a very snug fit over the old pipe, and I found it necessary to use pliers and bend the pipe in a bit to get it to slip on. Because of this, I was unsure if the four self drilling screws provided actually penetrated both pieces of metal. So I bought additional self piercing screws and put three extra screws in to be sure that the vent was completely secure.
I cannot say if the new vents outperform the old ones but they appear to vent at least as well, because I have not noticed a rise in heat in my home.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JimmyIron Very good upgrade to the old fashioned wind turbine vents!
I had a leak in my roof and spend a few storms checking the roof thinking it was around a pipe or the dish satellite dish. After sealing up everything I could think of, I determined that it had to be the wind turbine vents on my roof. When it rained hard, the rain would just pout in as they were open to the sky.
The new replacement vents are not open to the sky and were an easy to retrofit. They are very good looking and well made. Last hard rain shows that they fixed the problem I was having with the wind turbine vvents.
Also noticed that the venturi effect of these vents really work. Tested the temp of the attic and even used a little smoke to show the effect as the hot air left the attic via the vents.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by PookieJoe Sure beats the whirlybird with brgs going bad
For the negative customers that returned them for the whirlybirds that claim to have perminate lubed roller bearings, they can and do puke out the bearings and fail.
Then they squeel and squeak and make a horrible noise heard all over the neighborhood.
Also to the ones that say they don't move air at all, neither do the whirly birds when their isn't a breeze.
I tried the whirlybird and they aren't the same as the ones that lasted a lifetime, not to mention the rain getting thru the vanes when they aren't spinning

I installed 4 of these to replace old warn and noisy turbines. They arrived in good time and good shape, fit well and went on easily with the 4 included self tapping screws.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by BamaS2T Just what we needed
These are exactly what we needed. A family member re-roofed our house and didn't get the turbines back on correctly. There was no way to level without tearing up the new shingles. These worked fine as a replacement if not perfectly level. Installation was easy, we just unscrewed the old turbines, slipped on the new vent to mark the holes and drilled to use the old holes. Including painting, we put on 3 in an hour.
They've only been on the 1st two weeks of April, so I can't attest to performance in high summer. So far, so good though.
One point, HD jacked up the price of the black ones by $20 each after we looked at them once online. So we ordered the silver ones and spraypainted them with a $4 can of black BBQ grill paint.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by 3620WTCir Great replacement for turbine vents!!
Simple removal and replacement of decades old turbines. Much lower profile, so less visible, and much better at preventing rain from entering the attic. Also much better appearance. Slightly damaged in shipping, but easily bent back into shape.
