Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Sebastian The design is good, but the product is cheap.
Overall, it looks cheap and flimsy. The shade does not stay tight in place. The base is not heavy enough to stay on floor safely: if kids are around, it will definitely trip over. The only good thing about it is that the design is good, and it has goose neck, which can be adjusted/flexed as you like.

I used only 3 months and the screw of the base is loose and could not stand, the screw just become flat, totally a trash not worth one cent.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JRinOH Just what I needed
Keep in mind, the "excellent" reviews I gave this lamp are based on the fact that I paid under $20 for it! That said, I am very happy with it. It is compact and flexible. I wanted a very gentle light for reading, so I used a chandelier-type bulb. It's just the right brightness, and the pattern on the bulb makes it look like there is a pattern on the shade, which there is not. The shade is plastic, which is fine with me because if it was glass, it might make the lamp top-heavy. I have it bent into a shepherd's-hook shape so it shines over my shoulder. I'm very satisfied.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Pgittins Very light duty. The Pole is difficult to assemble.
I knew this was not an expensive lamp when I ordered it. I was a bit surprised to find that the size of the pipe was about 1/2 inch in diameter. I wanted to use a spot light which turned out to be too heavy for this lamp to be stable with. I ended up attaching a pair of brackets in order to secure the lamp. I also found it a bit difficult to tighten the pipe lengths because of the foam covering that would slip as I tightened the pieces together. It worked out ok in the end but I did need to work with it a bit in order to get the lamp to sit stable.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by spcruz Good for my needs!
I needed a standing lamp because I'm in a late 70s apartment. As many know most construction then didn't put ceiling light in living or bedrooms! I couldn't see my clothes in my closet due the size of the room... Even with side lights by my bed. I purchased this to make a little reading area & to light the closet in the bedroom. It's easy to put together & instructions were good. The soft texture of the stand is odd but I'm used to it now.
It's handy to manipulate the upper light but doesn't always want to stay. Very heavy base is great!
I ended using this stand lamp in my living room & near my work lapidary area in garage. I use a three way daylight bulb instead of the low energy because I'm using rotary tools at high RPMs & would like to clean, drill & cut rocks not my flesh! Easy clean... Cheap & doesn't tip over!
Excellent for me.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by machgman design poorly implemented
I ordered this on-line and sight unseen except for the pics that did not provide any real details. That was my mistake.
The gooseneck does not easily straighten out.
The covering is filmsy and cheap.
The quality is poor.
This was really done on the cheap and Home Depot should not have found this acceptable to sell through their stores.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Jake Wonderful for school film projects.
I needed lighting for my motion picture and television college classes. I ended up with two of these and the flexible tops of the poles allows me to direct light where ever I need. The plastic lamp shades are ideal for travel for they wont break. Im pleased with these lamps. The base is heavy enough so it stays put.
