Customer Questions & Answers

how do I know when to add fabric softener?

The manual says to add fabric softener during the final rinse and to wait until the washer has completed filling. Do I do this as soon as the rinse light comes on? The washer never completely fills and if I wait too long it starts the spin cycle.
Asked by: eduardo
You can add a timer and set it till you get it timed to it is what would be full or you can listen to start filling second time and as soon as it stops filling then add softener It wil take a while to get the timer set but you can start from the spin cycle Ihave had very good success doing both ways

on rinse water goes in and the next thing know it is spinning out, isn't it suppose to agitate

Asked by: Janet
Mine does that too. But it appears to me that there is another "agitated" rinse just before or just after the quick fill/drain one. I can't be sure, but I think it is meant to reduce residual soap or softener in the tub before final spin. I'd like to see your answer from the "pro's. "

Water temperature and water quantity

Water temperature: The washer is trying to satisfy pre-set water temps because switching between hot/cold occurs during the fill cycle. What are the water temps for Cold, Warm and Hot? I assume these temps cannot be adjusted by the consumer. Water quantity: What is the water volume for Small, Medium and Large loads.
Asked by: Ohgahd
temp and quanity are adequate

Does the machine start agitating before the water is in the tub?

The washer I have now agitates before water is in tub, I am looking for one that puts water in before agitating. I do not want a water saver washer, they only use less water & not necessarly cleaning or rinsing clothes thorough.y
Asked by: Neen
It fills to the selected level before agitation.

Customer Reviews

3.6 cu. ft. Top Load Washer in White is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 1665.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from It does the job-and that's saying a lot these days. I replaced a two year old Maytag Centennial with this machine. After suffering for two years with that horrible Maytag (which finally became completely useless), I bought this one. I didn't want to spend too much after my experience with the Maytag because I figure if they are going to break in two years why pay a premium. The difference is amazing. Unlike the Centennial, this one starts filling immediately (rather than long minutes of "sensing"). The wash cycle is quick and I can run three times the number of loads in the same amount of time as with the old one. It works well. Quiet enough. And did I say, It works!???

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible washer broke in 18 months I would give it 0 stars if I could. The first one arrive from Home Depot delivery men and was installed. It failed to work. It filled then would not go into any cycle, just drained once it was full. Home Depot would not replace it after less than 24 hours of being at my residence so we had to deal with maytag who apparently owns admiral products. They worked it out so we could get another unit. This new one was in use no more than 18 months and then stopped working. Such a piece of garbage. I wouldn't recommend to anyone. We are a low income family and this cost us more than going to the laundromat for the 18 months. Worthless scrap metal

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic Washer that Does the Job When my 12 year old Whirlpool Ultimate Care II died, I braced myself for having to spend $500 or more for a new machine. I was pleasantly surprised to find this Admiral on sale for $299. It is identical to a Roper or Amana and has only the most basic of features. As a single, middle-aged professional guy, I don't need one of those machines that look like the dashboard on the Space Shuttle. I've had to get used to the sounds this thing makes -- VERY weird hums and whirrs. But the bottom line is that I put in detergent and dirty clothes, push a button, and 1 hour later (yes, it does take twice as long as my old machine) I pull out clean clothes. That's is all that I want from a washing machine, and this one delivers. Very Cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for a single guy like me .. I bought this washer after the one in my house croaked .. I didn't want to spend a fortune, so I started reading reviews. Turns out that this model was very highly rated .. Only cons were some odd noises it makes. Overall I have been very pleased .. Also having it delivered for free was a nice bonus. If you just want to get the laundry done, and don't need 88 bells and whistles then this bad boy is for you

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product for the price While the features on this machine are fairly basic, it's a great machine for the price. I especially like the progress lights instead of the old mechanical timer dial. The cancel feature automatically pumps out the water but the pause feature allows for pre-soaking. These are manual functions but are missing on some other basic models. Overall a great value.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great machine for the price! I read some of the BAD reviews this machine got and hesitated, but needed a new machine ASAP and didn't have much money. For $299, set up, delivered, and the old one hauled away, this was a GREAT bargain. I don't know why anyone says it's slow, my laundry is getting done in the same amount of time as always. As for the locking lid, if you read the instructions, it tells you how to unlock it. If you don't like the "spray rinse" all you have to do is use a different cycle. In other the manual, and you'll have NO problems!
