We remodeled our 1965 bathroom and replaced our blue cast iron tub with this one!! It's perfect if you love getting baths!! It has a 14 inch soaking depth! It had generous ledges for your bath items. Every plumber I talked to has this tub! It's as close to cast iron (without the weight) as you can get!! I love it!

This is a very nice tub. I just purchased so we have not installed yet but it is not steel. We thought we were buying a steel tub that's what it say in product specs. It is fiber glass which is actually ok with us. Our contactor said it's a very good tub.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Excellent deep soaking tub--am purchasing a second one
Purchased this tub 3 years ago to replace a cast iron tub and I love it!
I clean the tub with a non-abrasive powered cleanser (Bar******* Friend) after checking with the manufacturer to make sure it was not going to damage the finish. The porcelain is easy to clean and does not scratch which is important because I live in the desert. The rim has an almost imperceptible slope so that water drains into the tub when cleaning and does not pool on the edge. After 3 years, the non-slip treads on the bottom have not discolored (unlike some tubs I have had) and they have not delaminated, either.
The 14" soaking depth is more than adequate and the back has lumbar support. It is quiet when filling, unlike an enameled steel tub. It does absorb some heat from the bath water, which it then retains, much like a regular cast iron tub. The first week I had it, I did bang my shins on the rim of the tub when exiting because it is deeper than I was accustomed to. I adjusted and it has not been a problem since.
I had the tub delivered to my local HD store. Mistake! Although it is lighter than cast iron, it is still very heavy and was difficult to get home! It was professionally installed which went smoothly except for having to exchange the drain assembly. The vintage style drain I purchased was not long enough and I had to go with a modern one.
My one and only regret about this tub is that I did not spend the extra money to purchase the model with drillings for grab bars. I am purchasing another tub for a new house, and this one will be the Cambridge with grab bar drillings.

Tub is nice, only problem is not being able to remove stains on tub for cleaning.. have tried different cleaners as recommended by manufacturer and still no luck.. Too hard to maintain clean.. Also bought an American Standard universal brass drain to install. Don't recommend it, save your time and money. Looks great but bad drain design..

i put it in my house and my son'g house. comfortable and retains the heat so well...i saw the review that said the non slip was peeling. the directions specifically say NOT to use an abrasive cleanser on the bottom as it will wear at the non slip feature.

This is a lovely, deep & wide tub. The only thing that I would do differently if ordering this tub again is that I would not get the no slip bottom--it's a little bit too rough when soaking. And I wouldn't get the inclined back because it reduces the depth of the water when reclining.
Those are only personal design preferences & this tub is wonderfully made, quality tub.
It is a great tub for the money. I'm so glad that I went with a steel tub, rather than a cheaper fibreglass one.

I bought this tub for the wider size, and the deeper height. It looks great...and made by American Standard, which is a reputable company. My only complaint is that the non-slip feature seems to be difficult to clean because dirt just sticks to it... but when it's clean, it looks great.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by satisfied Nice DEEP quality tub
The americast tub is more substantial and solid than the synthetic / fiberglass tubs without the cost, weight, and maneuvering difficulties of a cast iron tub. The amiricast material also insulates hot water better than synthetic / fiberglass tubs, keeping it warmer longer. This is the second one of these that I've had installed in a home renovation over the years, and I've been satisfied both times. This tub is deep, however, and I don't remember seeing an option for a shallower tub (this might make it difficult for older users to enter / exit).
