Have the linen round(wood) seat which came on the expensive "Town Square" toilet a few years ago.

Within a year of careful care with no harsh cleaners the seat became stained and hasn't been satisafctory. I've now been looking for a plastic seat to match the American Standard toilet and tub, both Linen color. Either we got a defective seat or the wood type is not able to be kept clean. Now we can't find a match in color in plastic. This not satisfactory for a $420. toilet. What is the solution?

Customer Reviews

Laurel Round Closed Front Toilet Seat in Bone is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from looks good I bought 3 of these about 6months ago and installed them in my guest bathrooms.  When our home was built the builder used another brand but I wanted to use American Standard since the toilets were american standard they look nice but do not fit well and seem to slide or move while being sat on the fasteners come loose, and it is embarrassing, to think that my guests are having this problem. It is also annoying to constantly retighten them. When I purchased them I expected an American Toilet seat would fit my existing toilets. I have one that has not been changed out, so I wonder, if this Laurel seat won't fit what style will ?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect OEM replacement for American Standard The plastic flex hinge on the original seat failed (14 years - not bad) and this is the molded wood replacement for the OEM seat. This has regular type hinges - much better. Despite what this website says (Internet only) I found it in stock at my local store. Took less than a minute to install it. Since I didn't know what size the toilet required (elongated or round) I at first got the wrong (elongated) one. Here's a tip - measure from the bolt holes to the forward edge of the bowl - if it is about 16" - you need a round seat. If it is about 18" - an elongated one. Also the price at the local HD store was $1 less than online - go figure.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Black round toilet seat I love the color and the quality of the product. My only problem is that when the toilet seat cover is open, it hits the flush lever on my toilet. I ordered a round cover, which is what all my other covers were. There were no problems with the others hitting the lever. This is really annoying. I'm thinking about taking my old round oak cover, priming it and painting it black. I still have my receipt, so I'm thinking of returning this purchased item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Laurel Round Toilet Seat This is a solid, wood composite toilet seat with a nice white finish. The seat bottom and top are separated by plastic spacers that may break down with a lot of use and weight.
